To make matters worse, horse movement controls are completely useless and I stopped trying a long time ago because I'd always end up steering in the wrong direction and getting killed despite enemies taking forever to kill me.
Horses are somewhat resistant to bullet dmg but you can still kill them, you can easily oneshot horses with the AT rocket launcher for Assault, field cannons, tank main gun etc, anything that hits hard and explosively. Tank hunter elite will 2 shot horses and 1 shot the rider. Horse controls take a while to master but when you get good with the cavalry it's extremely effective.
I love these.
You are OK "fighting" while sitting at home BUT this aspect of the event is too much. (^.^)
You are OK being able to die repeatedly... BUT this is too "unreal". (^.^)
And so on...
Kids today. (>.<)
Still, this is not the only aspect of the game that's not realistic,so just relax and enjoy the game.If all aspects of it were as it is in a real war,we would die in one shot or two, even in near misses. And i bet nobody would like this kind of realism.
Listen you have no idea what you are talking about lol. If the horse was any weaker on PC it would literally be useless. Consoles are where the horse is a little OP, but only in the hands of very good players.
On PC on average my horse lasts about 50% less time. On some maps the horse is barely useful. There are weapons that can one shot the horse. Get good here folks. Cavalry is one of the best and most unique aspects of the game. It's a game. Not reality.
Buddy, i see you literally have no clue what you saying because its not related to the topic, problem is not in realism, problem is in gameplay. Horses is more valuable than vehicles, because a) you can go in and out faster than vehicle, and not die in a second b) your vision is not obscured with closed space c) one shot melee kills d) you got support items that you can drop like health and ammo, being universal medic/support is very valuable to the team. That makes horsemen like a superclass. Just give them less hp and i wont be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. And by the way trying to make assumptions about age in a discussion about game balance is not making your point more reliable in a dispute.
It combines both Player and Vehicle health
Right now it has all you need : one-hitter, speed, tankiness and support abilities Seen and gone.
I would start by replacing the one-hit kill by medium to high damage depending on speed course. Maybe even equip it exclusively with melee weapon, dunno.
Then I would think about something like a risk/advantage balance.
At the cost of its lifespan, give it significant impact on the field.
For example a good use of horse would be to easely and quickly arm explosives and drop it on its way. Or temporary buff nearby infantry (heal, stamina free charge, accuracy buff, whatever...) with a trumpet blow. Or even break enemy deployables (medicine/ammo boxes, mortars etc) by riding on it. You get the picture.
Either make it passively supportive and tanky, or highly offensive but weak. Not both.
That's when you bring out the Parabellum and mow the horse down.
Horses are just as "OP", as assault planes and artillery trucks, that is to say, it depends who's using them.
Are they powerfull? Yes, but they are not invincible and there are plenty of tactics to defend yourself against them
it has the perfect mix of YOLOOOOOOOOO and swing swing sword
