DirectX Error : video card physically removed ?
First time I install it on my laptop. When I launched the game, after origin booted (and disappears) a black screen prompted me to update my gpu driver. Which I did afterward, but still having another directx error popup on black screen, implying a "physically removed" gpu with a bunch of code bs.
I did verify files integrity, no problem all validated.
I also did a display driver removal, then a reinstall. Still no luck.
And I'm pretty sure the game should at very least "launch" if not run smoothly...

Does anyone have a clue wether it's my computer's fault or the game's ? Does a fix exist ?

My config :
GTX 950m (v471.11)
W10 64b
i5 4200h
6Gb ram

PS : I have it on an up-to-date rig, it launch just fine
Thx !

Usually this means that the driver is corrupted.

Do the following :

Run a repair of the game installation
Use DDU ( display driver uninstaller ) to uninstall your GPU drivers cleanly and then re-download and reinstall the drivers, Not forgetting to right click the download -> properties -> click "unblock", Then hit OK.

Right click the driver installer again and click "run as administrator" and once again select "clean install" as the install option.

Reboot once it is installed and you'll be good to go.

Are you doing some kind of GPU OC? With Afterburner for example?

Did it once with DDU and once without it (through windows usual process), no fix.
Thx for the tips btw !

I didn't, no, it's still stock settings.

I miswrote my config : I have W8.1, not windows 10. I'll checkout for updates.

Just checked my updates on W8.1, installed everything (took me 3 hrs), still no result. Can't get the game to launch

Go to C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License and delete the file/s there then start the game. The game will create new ones and then it will work. This happens every time a windows update is made.

About the DirectX Error, some people UnderClock their GPU's and solve the problem... had the problem when Overclocking my GPU(so i just removed the OC). Also turn off the Origin Overlay.

And Why the F*ck are you using W8.1?

Thx for your answer, I may try that later and report.

As for W8.1, it's an old laptop (2016) which came with W8. I only use it when I travel. Since I rarely use it, it didn't bother ask me to upgrade to W10.

This is a bit old but try this:

See this Reddit thread:

https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield_one/comments/5abzwi/bf1_keeps_crashing_with_get_device_removed_reason/

But to sum it up from top comment:

"Disable directx 12 in settings: -Open BF1 folder in documents -go into the settings folder -open PROFSAVE_profile with notepad -change the value of dx12 enabled from 1 to 0 -save the change made. This worked for me. Dx 12 is bugged when enabled for some."
Gubimand, I saw that before on another discussion thread, but when I tried it, I found my BF1 folder did not even have a "Settings" folder, and doing a search in the BF1 folder itself, did not even come up with anything called PROFSAVE_profile
