Support has the mortars and limpets on one hand, but in anyway their lmgs can counter an assault in a close range firefight, with the exceptions of 4 weapons. The BAR,Madsen,Burton and Chauchat that give you enough chances to kill him first.
A skilled assault will win most fights up to 20 meters against a huge mag lmg support, unless the second surprises or outplays him.
In distances over 20 meters though, the support player has indeed the advantage.
What imo is best about support is the ability to keep your team loaded with ammo so you continue fighting and the fact that a few skilled gunners guarding entrypoints or the flanks can wipe out whole enemy assaults in literally no time flat.
An assault has the rocket gun,anti-tank nades, dynamite, you name it.
Plus his primary weapons will wipe you out in no time in close quarters.
Just a slight correction,Amiens can be really rewarding also to a support player that knows the spots of the map in which he can be really useful to his team and a real pain for the enemy.
the game dont load........ steam stole my money
Assault has the best guns now days... Like at least back in the day... the SMG08/18 didn't exist and when it did it was fairly balanced with a 450 RPM, but assault has kind of Always been OP, since his goal is to literally kill people/kill everything which means if your a KD ♥♥♥♥- than you will always pick them, unless your good at scout, which scout isn't as big of an issue as assault since most of his weapons take more aim than assault.
But playing support and medic in this day and age isnt as fun... even then to stay competitive it feels like your forced into using the BAR 1918 and burton
It all goes to playstyle, experience, knowledge of the map you play, skill and of course luck.
Assault is indeed op,hands down. But imo getting positive k/d in every game does not depend solely on you, since it's a team game and if your team sucks or the other team is just better than yours you'll die more.
Also don't forget that a support or medic can tear you to pieces before you get into your weapon's comfort zone.
You need to be up close and personal playing assault, and there will be games that no matter your skill you will just not be able to.
Telescopic prone worms bring down median IQ of support players a lot.
Same happens in reality also.
People using a scoped lmg the way it's meant to be used don't do anything wrong,no matter how nerve breaking it might be at times.
