No audio

I am pulling my hair out trying to diagnose this problem. The game has no audio and runs completely silent. I've rebooted my computer, I've updated my audio drivers, I've double checked to make sure my headphones are set up properly both on my computer and in-game. What's frustrating about it is that I've actually gotten the game to play audio twice -- but I have no idea what I did to get it to work. I restarted my computer 3 times today, and it didn't work. I left for a half hour or so, tried the game again, and there was audio. Does anyone have any solutions for this?
