Battlefield 3 cannot be launched anymore

I played with the game yesterday. Today, when I wanted to launch it I received the following error message:
link2ea://launchgame/1238820?platform=steam&theme=bf3
Application not found

My EA app files in Start menu have default blank Windows icons only. In the C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop folder I have a folder called outdatedEADesktop.

Can someone pls advise how to restore the game?

UPDATE: I have found a solution on Reddit:
1: Open the BattleLog page https://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/?intcmp=originclient
2: Launch Campaign and choose to download the Origin app when prompted.
3: Select Repair on the EA app screen
4: Launch Campaign again in the browser and the game will start properly again.

problem is, even after i log into battlelog it says i dont own bf3.

delete EA App and reinstall it, log back in EA App and launch BF3 from Steam if the game is not detected in EA App
