Cannot start BF 3
Cannot start BF 3. The browser (Firefox) opens and I have to log in every time. This is followed by the message that I need to update. However, nothing happens. I have the game on EA (formerly Origin), but have not installed it.

Me neither. What kind of ♥♥♥♥ is this ? Found guides about what I need to do to get the game running. This is ridiculous. Google it. There are lots of guides. You gotta do some stuff to even get the game running.
I am just raging and fed up already.
Paying 1,99 for another ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ EA game with their ridiculous extra launcher BS.

Install your game on EA App make sure it's running in the background then open your browser and go to battlelog.battlefield.com and log in then launch the game from Battlelog.
what error message do you get? is it you need to install a patch?

you're also doing it the wrong way, make sure EA App is running and your game is detected as an installed game then go to Battlelog and log in then launch your game from Battlelog

unfortunately having done all of your suggestion, none of it can shift the "waiting for origin app" message im getting. thanks anyway

You need to start and log in to Origin
I'm stuck here! What can I do?
1
Origin not installed? Download Origin
2
Check your Advanced settings in your Origin client and make sure you have not disabled ”Origin Helper” (Only applicable to Origin 9.7 or earlier)
3
Still here? Then try switching off plugin-free game launching in profile settings.
4
As a last resort switch to another browser and retry."

When Origin is ready please Continue.

"

ive tried, Brave,Chrome,Firefox,edge and IE11.
battlelog doesnt seem to detect EA app as Origin. Although when you click download origin, it downloads ea app. When you click Launch origin button, it launches EA app

use firefox or chrome and turn off any adblocker extension, also you need to log into Battlelog with the same account as EA App

I had this problem. I also had the game in EA App (Origin) but bought it on steam in the sale!

Eager to replay the campaign, I downloaded Battlefield 3 on Steam. However, upon launching the game.

Battlelog stated "Update required, You need to install or patch the game"

I tried Firefox, Chrome, Edge and Opera GX web browser nothing worked.

Uninstalling the Steam version and installing the EA App version fixed the issue initially. However, switching back to Steam brought the problem back.

I ended up contacting EA support. After dealing with many customer service representatives, they ended up temporarily removing my Battlefield 3 EA App version off my EA Account.

Now the Steam version works. If you're still encountering this issue, I recommend contacting EA support.

if you already own an EA copy just play that do not link that account to your Steam account you won't be able to play the game
