I followed exactly the same steps in this video, I even restarted the PC but nothing happened, as soon as I opened the program again, it said to log in to my account and the same Battlefield 3 activation message appeared.

I'm experiencing the same issue I fixed it once if it works again I'll let you know
I will recreate the issue in a another video and try it again. I definitely got it working after doing this.
I just uninstalled and recreated the error. I ran the launch parameters like this vu.exe -activate -o_mail <email> -o_pass <password>. Got the error still. Then used the launch parameters like this vu.exe -activate -o_mail email -o_pass password. Fixed it. I have recorded the uninstall live to prove it works.

Try using -activate -o_mail email -o_pass password INSTEAD of -activate -o_mail <email> -o_pass <password>
https://youtu.be/JHIgTP4hVo8 I recreated the error on a fresh instal and made a more detailed video.

this link shows how to access the Programdata folder " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ad-IbH_RWks"

huge thx for vB1OS, because of his video I was able to know that there is a hidden folder under the name of programdata.

For those who still ain't got it, I fixed by renaming my pc. Yes that's kinda crazy but actually worked for me. Go to configuration, system and just change the name of your machine.

Hope it worked.

It's worth considering
The latest video uploaded by the guy was basically: Going to C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License and remove this file '70619.dlf' which worked for me
