What people forget to do sometimes is to de-authorise the machine via the .exe file inside the game directory before uninstalling, so each time you install it again, it uses an activation up.
The last time I went into the bf3 folder was when the game ran through origin so that may have changed since then.
From memory though it has the old EA logo on it so it shouldn't be hard to miss.
:edit:
The folder is called "core", look inside that folder for "activation.exe" and when you run it before uninstalling, you can de-authorise the game and get back one of your limited activations, Then you can uninstall it.
That way you won't need to do any "fixes" for activation issues in the future.
It didnt work for them until it was ran without "<>"
u need not to keep the VU exe after the first activation
