The woe of Operation Metro

Operation Metro is one of my favorite maps in the franchise, and one of the most popular maps in BF3.
And yet I never play it.

64 player conquest servers, often 24/7, are the go-to thing for a huge section of the community, which gives it the reputation of a narrow meat grinder where you can turn off your brain, push through lanes and spam nades. And I'm not judging anyone for enjoying this kind of gameplay.

However if you've ever played 16-24 player Rush, you know it's a map made specifically for that kind of gameplay. 32p will do as well, but from my experience 2-3 squads per team replaces the meatgrinder gameplay with a tight, intense, position-based, tactical competition.

It used to be very popular this way, but alas nowadays I rarely see small playercount Metro Rush maps.

Only populated server that still runs metro rush (and rush in general) is beer & rush 24/7. Their player cap is 48, but it usually peaks at 30 or so most of the time. Highly recommend playing there. Tbg's metro is also pretty fun, every now and then you'll have a squad smoke and push the back objective, so there's usually two fronts to play on if you get bored. I'm looking forward to playing metro on 2042. I'm sure we'll have a lot of metro servers of different types to choose from.

thanks for the recommendations, I play on EU servers though and no such luck with Metro Rush there
