Whenever I try to join a server I get this error. It started happening around a year ago some time near when I upgraded my PC and installed windows 10.

Punkbuster needs to be manually updated.

first, go to steamapps\common\Battlefield 3\_Installer\punkbuster\redist and run pbsvc.exe & choose the install/reinstall option. click next, click finish.

if that doesn't fix it, try to update punkbuster. I just did this and FINALLY got mine to work again.

I have it on origin unfortunately. I didn't do the reinstall thing yet but I did update it and add bf3 as a game in its menu thingy. However I downloaded it from different site. Think it was just called punkbuster or smtn. Will try this.

That's very suspect. Where did you even find the Punkbuster files if not from the Even Balance website?

My bad. It was evenbalance. The link said punkbuster site or something but it took me to evenbalance. Ive been very busy lately but Ill try what duncans suggestion soon. I hope itll help. I remember reading somewhere its a firewall and windows 10 issues so if this doesnt work Ill be googling in that direction next.

Now whenever I try to join a server I get "Waiting For Game To Exit" pop up even tho the game isn't running yet. Restarted PC and tried but didn't help. Oh, wait, it's gone noe but now I have an error saying "Could not communicate with BF3. Please use the Task Manager to close it down." When I just click reconnect it does the same thing all over again. But the second time the error comes it does not let me click reconnect anymore.

I had to force close origin adn then try join a server on battlelog on browser and then let it launch origin from there.
