There's no problem with the EA app, I own most of EA and Ubisoft's games on Steam and their apps basically just verifiy you actually own the game. All you need to do is install them and you'll be prompted to do that when you launch the game for the first time. From then on, it will seamlessly open itself when you launch Burnout Paradise through Steam and you can close it when you're done playing. Too many Steam users seem to be excessively hostile toward "third-party" launchers like Ubisoft/EA/Rockstar Launcher being used by the companies in question (and actively downrate the games in reviews purely for that reason). It doesn't bother me one jot. I can play my legitimately purchased game and the fact that they are all centralised within my Steam collection is the only thing that's important to me.
