Does any controller work anymore?

I mean the name EA always means problems but I don't even know what to say anymore. With this new EA app, can anyone play with a controller. I got NFS Heat to work but I've tried to manage all kinds of settings to get my PS4 controller to work with paradise without success. This is so frustrating.

Edit: So I got everything working somehow! I think the key was bringing both EA App Recovery AND EADesktop to steam as non steam games. Then I restarted the systems and now it works.

I have a Logitech F710 controller that has a switch for both XInput and DirectInput.
Worked out of the box for me in XInput mode.

In many cases, the Origin (or now EA) overlay is causing this issue if you play the game on Steam, since it overwrites the Steam input for your controller, which as a result stops working... Easiest fix is to turn off the EA ovverlay, that should fix it in most cases!

Thank you for the answers. I will try to find an Xinput controller and see if that works. 1st method of the guide isn't possible in the new app and I have absolutely no idea what is going on in the other two methods. It's kinda weird since as I said NFS works just fine. I'll post if the other type of controller works.

I have a PS4 controller and I use DS4Windows to get controls working. Although they used to work and then stopped for some reason.
