Bring back your The Ultimate Box save file!!!
Ok so I managed to insert the Hex data in the save file of Burnout Paradise Remasteded from my The Ultimate Box Saves.

The process is not that complex and it actually gave me all my cars, painting jobs, Billboards and Smash Gates.

So the thing is, the Remastered Save File is "Profile.BurnoutParadiseSave"

The same file than the original under the AppData\Local\Criterion Games\Burnout Paradise Remastered\Save directory. So both files with the same names have different sizes. The original is 373 KB and the Remastered is 629 KB so yeah, they are different from the start. BUT, here comes the HEX magic.

So get any normal Hex editor and open both files (I used HxD).

The original file ends in 5D240 HEX lines

The Remastered ends in 9D240 HEX lines, so yeah, the reason why it's almost double the size.

Both lines ends after 6 bytes, unlike the rest of them with 16 bytes.

Now, from a really simple analysis, the Remastered has the same lines as the original, and has extra lines added after the original ones.

So the direct solution is to copy the lines from the original and replace those in the Remastered, in this case replacing the first 5D240 lines of the Remastered with the original ones, and leaving the rest untouched.

And Boom, data back into the Remastered!

PD: Yes this is my original post from EA forum 5 minutes ago.

While this would work to a degree, it would fail at a certain point, namely once your saved friends' Road Rules are reached. This is because the space allocated to player names changed. Even if that weren't the case, the devs messed up and allocated 8 times the necessary space for the license picture, which is why the save file doubled in size. Anything after Road Rules wouldn't be read in Remastered.

If you do want to transfer some data this way, everything before offset 0x34B0E still works in Remastered. That includes all progression from the base game except Road Rules and a couple miscellaneous things.

Well that's good to know, at least the main parts of the game can be loaded. That explain why my Road Rules reseted.
Thanks for the feedback

So it won't hurt anything to load my Ultimate save into Remastered? I'll just have to start over with Road Rules? I don't have any Road Rules data, just single player challenges I don't want to repeat.

I have to revise this post, because there are some changes that can be made to do it correctly. But you can do it as it is and it will work nicely, as youo won't need to transfer Road Rules.

I created a save editor[www.patreon.com] a couple months ago that includes a save converter. It supports porting from any platform/version to any other platform/version, so manual conversion isn't necessary anymore. Usage is pretty simple, file>open profile and then file>convert profile. Hope this helps anyone looking to port their progress over.

Thank you SO much for this post and that save editor—I only just found out that Ultimate Box DLC are no longer available after playing through 80% of the game, then I grabbed Remastered on sale for 6 bucks, used the linked tool and all my progress carried over! Woohoo!
