Nope. Origin asks you to enter in an activation key to link it to your origin account when you attempt to start the game on steam.

When the popup in origin comes up. it identifies the game as Unknown Game... Did it show the actual game name with you? or "unknown game"

I don't know, Origin barely opened. I didn't actually open the origin interface to see what it said the game was. There isn't any product key so im not sure why it would ask for one.

Here's what worked for me :
First time I launched the game, I had to login in Origin, which then asked me te enter the code. I canceled the process, re-launched the game from steam while being logged in Origin which added the game straight to my Origin library, then I could play.
Conclusion : guess you have to be logged in Origin before launching.

I just bought this game and am having the same problem. I've tried closing Origin and opening it a few times now and it just keeps saying saying the same "unknown game" and asks for an activation code. Does anyone know if maybe using add "Non-Origin Game" and picking Burnout from your files would work ? Cause Burnout isn't in my Origin Library. Or should I just keep trying it to open it ? lol

With the original Burnout Ultimate Box if you right click on the game, go to manage, and then CD key and a code was there. Not sure if this ones the same.

No it's a separate game from the ultimate edition. That key is just for that version.

I've created a new topic about it on EA's Answer HQ page to see what people on there will say.

I understand that they're different games. I meant is the key for this version found using the same method.

FIXED! Talking to Answers HQ on the origin's support website I learned that my VPN was to blame. If you have a VPN running turn it off temporarily. Close and reopen steam and run the game via your steam library. When Origin is started, it will give you the option to link your steam account to Origin then you just have to wait for update to origin and the game should appear in your origin library to play. When you run it from steam it will auto run the game once origin boots up. And yes you can turn your VPN back on. It will run with it on.
