Dragon Age II: Ultimate Edition

Dragon Age II: Ultimate Edition

Ultimate Edition or stay with the old Standard Edition?
I own this game from way back. Still got the disc etc. I think I originally installed it with the old EA Origin app.

It is listed as just the Standard Edition however. I am not sure what it includes. In terms of things like DLC, I am only seeing the Black Emporium. Sounds like the DLC got absorbed by the Ultimate Edition.

There was also a High Resolution Texture Pack as part of the Ultimate Edition. I am uncertain if the base, Standard Edition of the game includes that.

I already own the game, although not on Steam. Is it worth it to buy again just for the added stuff & improved visuals?

If you own it on the EA app, click "manage add-ons" on the game, it should show you all the DLC which afaik are now free? At least, I suddenly owned them despite never having bought them.

When I do that it shows just The Black Emporium. None of the other stuff. I also can't locate the other DLC in the EA app - it is a bit crap:summercrab2023: Sadly, the text saying "Manage add'ons" is just text and nothing functional, like how Steam handles DLC

From what I have read, they removed the other DLC from sale and rebundled it with the release of the Ultimate Edition. Admittedly, there was some overlap.

It looks like the only thing I can buy is the Ultimate Edition. However, I did see a "Dragon Age II DLC Bundle" that had some stuff. Although it did require you to own the Ultimate Edition already

If you can't buy the ultimate with owning the original, you can remove the original from your account and then buy it.

I think the save should load, but perhaps not. The game is worth a few play through's anyway. 3 bucks is worth it for the two DLC's no mater how you slice it.

like "JC" said it, for just 3 bucks they are very much worth it. (dont forget it you are buying to play today, and to play tomorrow for when you wanna come back to replay it again)

Plus you will have acess to loads of "Item Packs" that can help you gear up yourself and your companions. And compared to Dragon Age origins i think they really overdone it on the packs (you get flooded with items).

And to be honest i got more satisfied "Story Wise" from the DLC than from the main story/campaign
