Game will launch but only display black screen

Clicked play on Steam, it'll launch Origin. I logged in to my Origin. the splash screen appear. and the game window will come up but only display black screen and it goes not responding upon click. tried to launch in windowed mode, directx9, as admin, win7 compat mode. nothing works. any ideas?

It might not be enough that you run the game with administrator account, or set executable to run with administrator rights.

Your firewall should have list for exceptions. Open your firewall application and add the game as exception for it.

tried this one as you suggested. added the game exe to firewall as allowed/whitelisted. still getting the game window with black screen only.

Turn off Origin overlay

check your settings in
Steam\steamapps\common\Dragon Age II\bin_ship\DragonAge2Config.exe
rescan and save

turned off origin and steam overlay. rescanned, set everything to low and saved.
doesn't work. still getting the same black screen.

Turn off teamviewer in task manager (if you have it)

Run compatibility troubleshooter and disable fullscreen optimizations

if that option is in video setting tab on config app then im sure i've tried that one too. fiddled with every video setting on the config app but all yields the same result. anyway, Ive requested a refund and it has already been approved by Steam. thanks for trying to help. i do appreciate it.

Gotta launch the game through Origin 1st, or else it will error out.
