problem launching the game

i report what appear to me when i try start the game:

"We could not activate mass effect 3 on this computer using the origin account you provided. Please locate your product key to activate the game using your origin account."

I do not have the product key for the game because i bought the game weeks ago from steam; I have an ea account (origin doesn't exist anymore, am i right?) and even with that account log in the game doesn't start. I really want to blow up the entire EA system if would be possible.

Anyone encountered this problem before? Any suggestions how to resolve it? Thank you!

Same. ISTR there should be a way to recover the digital CD-key?

ETA: Wouldn't be usable anyway, they don't actually give you a place to enter it in.

Hi everyone, so to play the ME3 single version I demand a refund on steam (that i have obtained) and than I bought the ME3 single version on EA, where it's actually on sale.
Apparently buying the game from EA doesn't give you this problem with the product key.

I've got the same problem only when I try to put in the key it says I'm not connected to the internet when I clearly am. So even if I could find the key it wouldn't help. This wasn't a problem before and only started happening as of yesterday (4th June 2023) for me. Any ideas? Thanks.

Try a VPN. This issue seems to have been problem years back, and according to Reddit, a VPN resolves the issue. Once you pass through, you can disable VPN.

VPN solution unfortunately didn't work. My best guess is it having something to do with me2 edition (all DLC) appearing in my library, since then me3 hasn't worked. Either way it doesn't look like I'll be playing me3 for a while. Thanks for the suggestion tho.

I made a little adjustment to it, so it was on moderation, but now it is available.

I have a similar issue, where the app tries to validate my product key through what seems to be an origin feature, but then it can't connect to any of those services because they were killed off.
Contacted the support desk, who came back with: 'our development team is aware of the issue and are working on a solution as we speak'.
Hopefully that wasn't just help-desk-speak to get rid of me and they actually will soon come with a patch that solves this infuriating issue.
