I have the same problem.
i just bought my second month subscription just for ME3 and still can't play it since switching to steam. I bought all the missing DLC on origin and it worked very well before. I have also tried all these solutions but nothing works

its finally working for me I have activated some time ago the compatibility mode (windows7) in the property of the file MassEffect3.exe which is in Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ Mass Effect 3 \ Binaries \ Win32 I therefore deactivate them and work again (I have erased the old installation of me3 in the origin directory)

I'll have to try that after I upgrade back to 20H2

Same problem here.. and steam won't refund me. I spent 60 bucks between the main game and the DLC. I expect a functioning product.

the product works but the steam-origin fusion poses some problem. check all the posts on this subject because it can come from several things. physx, integrate files, overlay, reinstallation of origin, add mods ... without forgetting that since the game me3 is sold on steam it remakes a new installation of the games so we end up with the games twice on the disc. note that if you bought the game on steam it should appear in the original list as a new me3 game but with the steam logo
My game doesn't start up, instead what I get is it tries to open, my start bar at the bottom disappears, I get a white box in the top left of my screen, and it plays the first bit of the games startup with the bioware logo, but only the sound, still see my desktop and such, but yet the game just won't load up at all, tried starting it from both Origin and Steam, not a single thing.

Disable Origin Overlay.

The game doesn't launch on windows 2004/20H2. Have to downgrade back to 1909

There are no startup difficulties for me. Other Windows versions have also not caused any problems.

Therefore, it could be a configuration or I have something installed that affects the smooth operation.

Hello fellows!

I was having the same issue, but I found out the fix for it!

Go to C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts and delete every folder inside.

"EA Core" and "EA Services"

Launch the game and there you go!

Hope it helps!

This seems silly but it worked for me as well.

Thanks.

EDIT: I'll add that you should restart your machine after deleting the folders, before starting the game. Otherwise, you'll have to repeat the process before very time you launch the game.

I had the same issue and the solution for me was to close Afterburner.

Doubting it as I've tested two different systems with both 1909, 2004 and 20H2 with fresh installs.
More then welcome to run winver and report back

I am currently running 20H2.
As already mentioned, the previous versions also ran smoothly.

I think there are enough other players where ME3 works on 20H2.

It would be strange if I would be an exception.

Edit:
My playtime on the PC is:
40 hours Steam
1041 hours Origin

I've been through pretty much every version of Windows and its updates since ME3 was released.
