Mass effect 3 won't work with Origin? Help?!
Hi,

I bought Mass Effect 3 yesterday. Installed, it. Everything was fine. I played in the evening. Now I come home, try to launch the game, and there seems to be a loop with the Origin client. Every time I launch the game, Origin has a "refresh", and the game doesn't launch. I tried de-activating the Origin overlay in Origin parameters, game parameters trough Origin, and game parameters from the steam launch options. I verified authorisations, it's all good. Reinstalled Origin and steam. Also tried to launch it from the .exe. None of those things work.

Steam won't bother with tech support since it's supposed to be handled by EA and EA has for once in their existence decided they care about their employees and tech support channels are closed (all of them. Phone, mail, chat. The answer: ask other players on our forums) because COVID-19 (I doubt they care, but that little bugger has become a nice excuse to throw around lately). I can't get a refund either because I exceeded the 2 hour limit of the steam policy.

Does anybody know how I might solve this? Help would be much appreciated, even if it's only a hint or a path I can explore :) Thanks in advance!

I am in the exact same boat. I played it yesterday and today it won't seem to launch under any circumstances. This seems to be a common issue too so i'm hoping it is quickly addressed. I don't know about you but my origin was stuck in a pop up loop for a while but now the launcher refuses to even act like it wants to launch my game.

A thing I noticed is that I need to launch origin manually. When I try to launch origin by launching ME3 (in steam), Origin starts, loads, then disappears. That doesn't solve the problem of the game not launching tho. I also tried to launch the game trough Origin, but it only pops an administrator authorisation request for steam (which I accept) and then nothing. :/

So i did some more research, I tried to contact origin help but was disconnected 2 times with no resolution in sight. I have seen another discussion on steam about this but most of them say the issue is caused by having 2 licenses (one for origin and one for steam). I on the other hand only have ME3 on steam so I am at a dead end on how to fix this thing/:

So I think I found the solution! It is was an issue with the license for me and this is how i fixed it. I deleted the License folder in C:/Program Data/Electronic Arts/EA services/License. I was then able to Launch the game! These files may also be hidden so make sure you type "File Explorer Options" in the task bar and then select show hidden files under advanced options.

The Origin overlay indeed suck... I'm guessing its also the culprit for not letting us taking screenshots through Steam and having Steam overlay work?

Its still playable on my side.. most of the time its 60+ fps and occasional dips to 40fps but not any lower than that so far. I have my graphic settings all maxed too and I'm playing it at 4k res.

I delete the License file but anytime I try to launch ME3 it comes back and Origin has its seizure and then nothing happens.

@Seed3po Make sure you delete all the licenses even for other games or else the folder won't "Reboot" since its a temp file.
