Game refuses to even launch. Help?
Heya.

I've had Mass Effect 3 on Origin for about five years now, but I decided to rebuy it on Steam. However, when I linked it up and launched it, Origin refreshes and the game doesn't launch, although it says that I'm playing it when I launch my friend list. I've tried launching it over Steam and Origin thinking that there was some issue there.

I'm getting no PhysX pop-up telling me to install anything and I just played it a few weeks ago when it was on Origin, so it can't be an issue with drivers. I have also reinstalled both ME3 and Origin to hope that would work, but alas, nothing. I've disabled the Origin in-game display on both Origin and for the game, but nothing is working.

If anybody has any suggestions on how to fix this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

It took me many hours to fix mine, here's what I did: turned off msi afterburner, and then went into origin and took of their ingame overlay TWICE. First in top settings, and again in the ME3 settings which you can find by clicking a gear under ME3 in origin. it was the second one I kept missing. Try both of those

I don't have MSI Afterburner, so I don't think that's causing any issues. I tried disabling MSI Super Charger, but that didn't work. I've also tried disabling the in-game display already, too, but still no luck :(

I'm pretty much in the same situation as you. I even tried the PhysX fix and dll fix mentioned from another website and still no go. Only ME3 giving me problems launching it. I was able to fix DA2 & Inquisition without much trouble.

I am in a similar situation. When I launch the game, I get a few Origin popups, but the game doesn't launch. I'm wondering if it's due to having the old license on Origin. I ended up refunding since I couldn't find a solution.

Looks like I now no longer have a license on Origin after activating my Steam version. So now I can't play the game at all. Wonderful.

Jesus. I've tried emailing EA Support for help on this. They've usually been decent in my history with them, but right now I'm getting stonewalled.

It seems to be a ME3 only issue, too. I got Unravel and tried that out and it worked perfectly fine. So I have no idea what the issue is.

Yeah, getting the same issue here. I am agreeing with it seems to be a License issue on Origin's side.

If you right click the game in your Origin library you should still be able to download it. I was able to do this after getting refunded.

I can download it, but there's no way to launch it. It just tries to get me to buy the game again. What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I've tried three times to reach EA Customer Support in order to get some help. The first guy who I reached on Live Chat flat out disconnected on me and the second guy tried to help me, only for him to disconnect after I clicked a link. I then sent them an email, only to have them not reply to me and mark the issue as "resolved".

I'm getting tired of this ♥♥♥♥. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, EA. It's been eight years and you still find ways to ♥♥♥♥ over Mass Effect 3.

In the same boat, and I think it's likely due to the way Origin handles the ME3 license specifically.

I had ME1-3 on Origin, but bought them all on impulse now that they're on Steam. I registered my new product keys on Origin to download the DLC for them, and while ME2 shows up as two separate copies, ME3 does not. ME3 has simply been replaced with a new image with "STEAM" at the bottom.

There also doesn't seem to be any way to uninstall the Origin version that I didn't realize was still on my computer. Trying to uninstall it on Origin just sends me to the Win10 Add/Remove Programs, and the only option for uninstalling ME3 is getting rid of the Steam version. I know, because I accidentally uninstalled it and had to re-download afterward.

If I find a fix, I'll come back and share what I found.

Putting my hat into the boat as well.. This is the only game that refuses to launch. Andromeda, hell, even Battlefront 2 launches without issue :\. I've scoured the threads and tried everything that everyone else has done, bleh.

So I think I found the solution! It is was an issue with the license for me and this is how i fixed it. I deleted the License folder in C:/Program Data/Electronic Arts/EA services/License. I was then able to Launch the game! These files may also be hidden so make sure you type "File Explorer Options" in the task bar and then select show hidden files under advanced options.
