Cant even start the game?
I get this helpful little message telling me my system failed to initialize the physics system, and to ensure I have an updated version of PhysX.

I have a ryzen 5 2400g and an Amd radeon 5700 XT(which i'm pretty sure doesnt even run physx), and when I try to run the physx exe in the ME3 install folder, it tells me I have a newer version than what i'm trying to install, and cancels itself.

What do I do?

The debug.log file is from origin itself, so it's not too useful for actual game issues.

Thanks for trying to help, but I personally don't use MSI afterburner. Might help someone else tho.

go into origin. first turn off ingame origin from top menu, then do it a second time in me3 settings in origin. the second one is harder tovfind, but its in settings for me3 game just click the cog image.

I've heard that helped some people, but still didn't work for me, unfortunately. Thanks for sharing.

For physx issues you need to apply a fix yourself because nvidia's installer for physx is stupid and some newer versions that are installe will prevent older versions from installing, which causes it to not install the required libraries... it's a long story. I'm a mod developer for this game and physx is always a pain in the ass.

I'm making a fixer program, but it'll take a few days. You can use a program called 'LessMSI' to extract the physx redistributable in the game's directory (under __installer). Extract the MSI to a dir. Take the x86 (or 32) dll's from the 'common' folder and the 'engine/2.8.3' folder and put them next to the game.

The files are:

cudart_32_41_4.dll
PhysXCooking.dll
PhysXCore.dll
PhysXDevice.dll
PhysXLoader.dll

Place these next to the Mass Effect 3 executable in binaries/win32. The game will then find these and the physx error will be fixed. I fixed my game this morning using this method - i'm going to write a small tool that will just do this for people.

Thanks for taking the time to write out the steps in full detail, so even an idiot like me could follow. But for some reason that hasn't changed anything.

if it helps any, the debug file displays this message
WARNING:resource_bundle_qt.cpp(114)] locale_file_path.empty() for locale

There's always a chance i could have screwed something up along the way though(eg. I didnt see x86 versions of the dlls just the base and 64 versions)

unfortunately, still didn't work for me.

Yea still not working for me too and I have already added ME3 and Origin to exclusion list of my AntiVirus.. the physX fix above didn't work either. Also already disabled overlay in Origin main settings and game settings... still no go. MSI afterburner has been closed/disabled too.

I have a beast PC (Ryzen 3900X & a 2080Ti with 32GB of RAM... running this game should be no problem for me! UGH!!!! EA PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't even launch the game. Whenever it gets to that point where it connects to Origin launcher it shows a white window then it closes!
Mgamerz Jun 12, 2020 @ 10:42am
The above fix is not for a white window. That white window is origin opening and then minimizing itself because it's launching the game. The game seems to take about 10-15 seconds to open.

You'll know the physx issue exists cause it will explictly say physx.

Hi, I got it to work this way

🔴 Go to -----> " this PC > Local Disk (whatever) > Program Files(x86)> Steam >steamapps > common > Steamworks Shared > _CommonRedist > PhysX > 9.12. 1031 "

🔴 Click the installer and choose >repair< and then go re-launch the game from the Steam Library.

🔴 Have a nice day.

Didn't work for me.... @#%!@#!! Really don't know what else to do. Even uninstalled, downloaded again, and reinstalled all 25GB+ of the game but still same thing... doesn't give me errors but the game just won't launch after it connects to Origin client... such piece of crap!
Mgamerz Jun 13, 2020 @ 7:24am
If you are having physx issues and the fixer doesn't work try downloading the latest one from Nvidia. My issue is that it was partially installed for some reason but was missing some files and due to the installer it won't allow old versions to run if it had a newer one installed.
