I don't see why it will not work.

It's not as if EA made "Steam only" servers for the game now that it's released on Steam. Seeing that you need Origin running in the background, the game *should* still function via the same servers that the Origin version runs on. But don't quote me on that :)

Technically it should be possible, why not? It would revive the PC version, but Console players would have no chance against the average PC player. On top of that, Console has to deal with a flood of cheaters and the AntiCheat is a joke.

Its really sad, maybe in the future they re-release it like Battlefield 3 Remastered if the rumours are true.

Any EA games on Steam use the same servers as the Origin versions.
