Unable to play Titanfall 2 [resolved]
Magical resolution of the problem at https://steamcommunity.com/app/1237970/discussions/0/5946473955229041064/?ctp=3#c3801651661445474530

I first played Titanfall 2 during the Steam free weekend on 1st May, 2021. No problems there, 7.6 hours of play time. Later on the game was gifted to me on Steam on 23rd June, 2022. Now when I tried to play it this January, I found out I can't. The game installs fine on Steam, but as soon as I click Play, it closes. It also doesn't show that I own it in the EA or Origin client.

I've since had a Steam support ticket where they've told me there's nothing they can do since the game uses a separate account and activation system and they directed me to contact EA support.

After 4 live chats and an email with EA support where they suggested various fixes, one of which had me reinstall Steam so I had to redownload all my games, that was fun, they told me that "lots of others are experiencing the same issue, we have contacted the responsible department" which I believe is just a way for them to brush me off, because there's no way lots of others are experiencing this.

My theory is that because the free weekend license activated first and expired, that's all the EA client sees, unable to see the other Steam license I have of the full game. https://imgur.com/a/Tu15YQV

So now I have a useless Titanfall 2 sitting on my Steam account, any ideas?

Can't you click the game in your library > Support > I want to permenantly remove this game from my account?

But then I would be throwing away the 4.79€ that my friend spent to gift me the game. And then what? Hope that next time I get it gifted or buy it, the game to magically somehow work and not run into the same problem?

I am having a similar problem. launching it from steam either just opens some windows and then closes them. and Ea launcher gives an error game failed to launch try again later. I own the game both on steam and ea. Previously on ea it used to show as both ea version and steam version (two separate products) i launched the game after many months and the steam product doesnt show up in ea launcher.
Although i upgraded my cpu recently from ryzen 2600x to 5600. perhaps that is the issue

I read a previous forum comment and already tried. It doesn't show on the Origin app either. :( And I didn't upgrade any pc part, still using the same one from 2018.

is this an AI generated thread or are there other people aware that the multiplayer games arent with live people anymore. they are Bots, this is my opinion and suspicion. and i feel as if this is becoming a theme with online games with 0 wait time. i thought it was strange that so many people would be active on obviously dead games. anyone else experiencing this?

Is this an AI generated comment? Because this is a thread about the single player game, not the multiplayer.

Three times, I have installed and reinstalled this game and cannot get beyond the loading screen.
Very disappointing to say the least as I really enjoyed the campaign when it worked.

It's good that the Origin launcher helped you! Sadly it didn't help me. :steamsad:

I can't even launch the game. This EA app is absolute trash. What a waste of money.

Have tried launch options command: +communities_enabled 0 ?
or
Have your tried installing northstar from northstar.tf? Could be the answer for your problem.
