The problem with Northstar Client...

I've been using Northstar client for about 2 and a half days now. The client is exceptional, it restores server functionality and fixes many issues that are present in the non-client version. However, I have some issues with it, first I'd like to premise with please feel free to correct anything I say that may be inaccurate or incorrect. As I said I've only been using the client for around 2 days so there will likely be some things I get wrong. That's why I'm here though, I wanna be corrected, I wanna be wrong about these assumptions of mine because this client is so well made and I wanna love it. However, there is just a few underlying problems that make it hard to love. You see, I think the addition of the server browser is great, giving players the ability to find custom matches catered to exactly what they wanna play is really smart. The thing that confuses me is that this is the only option? The only way I can play a match is to use the server browser. You may be wondering what the issue with that is? Well for me, I see this and wonder, "Why is there no matchmaking option?" It makes no sense to me that I can't queue for a match with players on my own skill level. The fact that I have to join a match possibly in progress, not automatically set to be with players in my region, and with players on a higher level than me just doesn't feel right. The whole game is in shambles because EA gave up on it, and I'm glad Northstar is trying to support a game that EA won't even bother to try to support. But when I play matches on Northstar, it really doesn't feel like i'm playing a match of Titanfall with my team anymore. It feels more like a Fortnite playground/creative match. Why does it feel that way? I guess it feels that way for me because In the non-client version of the game, when I play a match I level up, unlock new weapons, level up those weapons, and unlock new wraps for those weapons. None of that is present in Northstar. It gives me all items, all skins, and it doesn't matter if I level up, it has no effect or progression on anything. At first I liked having everything unlocked, and I still do somewhat. it's convenient having everything unlocked, but its unfulfilling. That's the problem with Northstar. It's simply too unfulfilling. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, and before you scream at me about my ignorance, (Yes, I do understand that this client is targeted at dedicated Titanfall 2 connoisseurs) but I don't fall into that category. I love the game, but I'm fairly new and I just want a functional option to play without dealing with horrible server connection in the base game. Does anyone else feel this way? Does anyone have any advice? I know it's not the end of the world but a solution to these issues of mine would be much appreciated. I didn't come here to complain, just to point things out and reach out for help.

Just the downsides of getting into a game late, I'll probably never be able to play a normal bf4 match ever cause theres always gotta be so many rules which differ from server to server like banning equipment or having class limits

You don't need Northstar to play the multiplayer currently

You may not "need" it but it's the best way to play the multiplayer without any issues. It also adds some custom game modes that are pretty cool.

Yeah Titanfall has the same issue. There really is so many different settings in every server in Titanfall, and while its pretty cool it also makes that original experience of the game obsolete.

Did you make an effort to make your post as long and bloated as possible? You spent 4 lines saying "correct me if I'm wrong". Use line breaks man.

As for answering, that just the thing with a browser based server system. There is no matchmaking server to yeet you into one of the severs. Progression in this system would also be damn hard to curate, you could just edit your own save data to unlock everything, so they unlocked everything for you

As for the lack of comraderie(?) thats on you. Strike up a conversation or encourage everyone to go kraber only. We're here to have fun after all.

Hey, thanks for replying to my post, I appreciate your input, and yes, I do tend to talk a lot. I know there’s no perfect solution to Titanfall’s many issues. I’m glad the community is able to come together and have fun using this client.

I get your frustrations, but with these 3rd party style clients and such, you should really post to their respective communities rather than the steam forums. also keep in mind it is harder for a small team to implement stuff than for EA
