Titanfall® 2

Titanfall® 2

İstatistiklere Bak:
Do NOT buy for multiplayer
As a newcomer you will constantly get stomped by gen 20+ players (20 will be some of the lowest you will see, I even saw gen 100.49 players) who have been playing for hundreds, if not thousands of hours. Kraber quickscopers, never touching the ground, barely missing any shots etc. Those will be your average opponents.

There is no MMR based matchmaking. There are barely any noobs. This right here is the equivalent of matching a high master player from Starcraft 2 against your average gold league player.

Overall the multiplayer feels like another EA scam.

Do you mean that you dont want to lose the opportunity to wreck enormous parties of noobs before they left to whine on forums ?

Problem presented: "I cannot get the decent weapons all the 'good' players have because they keep beating me in PvP, preventing me from leveling or learning how to move around maps and learn my Pilot movements and Titan combat tactics."

Solution already implemented: Frontier Defense, the PvE mode. Killing grunts, spectres, stalkers, and auto-titans all give weapon and titan exp. Leveling weapons and titans give pilot EXP, allowing one to unlock new weapons as well as earn credits to buy them flat out for regeneration levels. Though not all the maps, the maps in this mode are diverse enough you can learn a few of the more common tricks. If you come out of this mode but still want to know the layout of the pvp maps not in FD, you can load up a map in private match, launch it solo, and practice movement there.

If you're really not confident in your ability to dive straight into PvP, there are means of learning in multiplayer gameplay without putting yourself into a situation where an enemy pilot with more experience can beat you while you're still learning.

My advice is thus for anyone reading this to decide on if they should get the game "for Multiplayer" or not: The Campaign is still worth experiencing, and if you don't know if the Multiplayer is for you... give it a try. Figure out for yourself if it's something for you, or not.

Just remember to have fun.

Some sanity has been injected into the veins of this thread, lets see the outcome of it.. see if this cures the toxic radiation poisoning that has been lingering in here.. Everyone, take out your notes and document results!
Half of the players are either cheaters or jedis; either way I can't do ♥♥♥♥ against reflexes like that.
Do the google search.

Every match has people using hacks.

And since it's a multiplayer-centric game, why buy it at all?
i love these people who feel that there must not be a learning curve in a new game. maybe if you were open minded to the possibility of improving then u might have a good time. it takes time to learn.

Yep. Special people who believe they are the best at everything.

While I don't necessarily agree with those people complaining, you fail to see the point they are trying to make. They don't complain about the game having a learning curve, they complain about the drag that it is to improve in a game that is made of 90% veterans who mastered and abuse the meta of the game. That's especially annoying if the game is rather badly balanced.
You have to understand that not every player is a nerd who has both the time and dedication to go through all that in his free time. I wouldn't have a problem with learning things the "hard way", because I tend to join most multiplayergames years after release, but the average player won't enjoy that and thus leave the game. Aiming to help those players by various means doesn't happen to make the game easier for noobs and non-nerds, it happens to establish a healthy playerbase that can survive and keep a game populated over many years.

It dosent do any of that because these are people who fundamentally are not looking for a "hobbyist" game that you invest time into getting better.

Not that titanfall requires even that much.

but the average player won't enjoy that .

Average? what average?

We are talking about people who arent the audience and they wouldnt have stayed.

People who jump from one thing to the next are again not the audience for a "I want to improve at" anything it could be streetfighter it dosent matter.

This is why products aimed at said audience are hyper disposable. Bi year cod releases, cow clickers, etc. This is not the audience of "Im going to spend a year learning to play fighting games" or any investment title.

Literally out of the horses mouth:

I don't spend my time playing a single video game in order to git gud.

If your trying to grab that audience your better off asking players "dontcha have phones" or going "games as a service" . That will cast the widest net to grab them.It also a better investment to return ratio.

Sooo... what is the actual audience of the game then, given the always low playercount at the end?

Whatever you want to call it you make a product for said audience. Its not going to include everyone. Now trying to open it ups is great, but it still has to fundmentally go after its niche.

Part of this games niche is the movement takes some effort to learn as do the titans because of the long ttk.

If you want to try to get more people with sp,pve, marketing, mixed game modes, good tutorials etc. thats great do that. But you can not make it not about its niches (which inherently require a time investment) just as you cant make an mmo grinder, for a grinder audience, that dosent have grinding. Its an effort in futility.

I hate mmo grinders, its pointless for them to try to make an mmo grinder targeting me as an audience.I will still hate it, and their audience will also be guaranteed to hate it.I am 100% not the audience for grinders.

Also its overall the wrong 'problem'. Largely speaking factors outside an mp determine how popular it is.Say if doom eternal had mp more in the style of titanfall 2 or old afps it would have a much higher player count even thought its still a "movement shooter" with a learning curve.

Best advice right here. MP is full of far too skilled people and cheaters. Single player is a bop though.
These "cheaters" are not as bloody numerous as everyone on STEAM is friggin making it out to be. There'd be more of an uproar on the other community sites if there was a hacker problem..
This thread should be deleted tbh - it tells people to NOT buy the game cuz they will get "rekt" which is NOT true. If you have good Quake/CS/DOOM expierience you'll stomp others. This game is just not for casuals, but telling people to not buy this for MP is the reason why this game is dead.

I would say Titanbrawl is the most accessible part of Titanfall. People always forget about Titanbrawl.
