Report a translation problem
Last time I tried this was with Boundary, using Joy2Key to send keyboard commands from a Thrustmaster HOTAS. It's much harder to try to get the a combination to appear as a single controller. It depends a lot on how the game processes the dual types of inputs.
If remapping doesn't work, you could probably use an Arduino/RPi to capture and modify the input devices but at this point why not just make the controller from scratch.
