EA app and linking Steam account
I just installed Titanfall 2 today thinking to give it a spin. After hitting Play button, EA app installer started. OK I thought - i'm starting to see why this game was so cheap to buy.

So I agreed to install EA app thinking that I will uninstall it immediately after single player campaign is played through.

After installing it requires to login with EA account. OK fair enough I thought and logged in. Then it asked to "Link Steam account with EA account" with a disclaimer "Unlinking accounts may be limited".

This was the final straw for me. You can't play this game without linking the accounts. I decided to uninstall the game all together. Also uninstalled EA app that still left files and folders in my /AppData/Local folder that I manually deleted afterwards.

This is ridiculous. EA is obviously pushing this application to suck up all the data about us and our Steam accounts. Are these game making companies focusing on making games or spyware?

Actually a lot of companies do this. It's not new or a gimmick. Half the games I play have this feature. Epic, EA, World of Tanks, Star Wars, yadayada ya.... Yeah, not something one wants to be sure, but if you want to play the games from these various companies it's a sad part of the new gaming world. I play Dead Space, Planetside 2, and Titanfall from EA and have that installed to play them. Probably the only other option is to download it directly from EA but then you'd have to pay more. It seems to be a tradeoff... sadly.
