yes its recommended you install an open source multiplayer client made by the community to play in custom servers. as the game's official servers dont work 99.9% of the time. its super simple to get it going, if you need help with anything let me know

the game has issues sometimes.

Depends on a lot of factors.

There used to be a HUGE issue with losing connection to the server you were matchmaking in, however there was a mod made to fix this issue, and it along with several other things have lead the game on a slow path to recovery.

something is bad going on
I cant even play ONE mp match in any world
it keeps saying SERVER DISCONNECT
then the lame bot gives out a banner for downtime

I have 1.8gbit net and no clue whaaaaaat is going on
I cant even fiddle with customize my char, the server goes down and down
always I relaunch, and all I customized, is back to normal

I really dont like when devs put a game on sale 3$
only to find you can PLAY it
this happened with far cry 6
and now any old ubi games too

Anyone having serve disconnect issues please download the auto matchmaking mod and launch the VANILLA game with NS client. If you get disconnected it automatically connects you back to lobby and starts searching again. Then you can just leave your game and watch it until you find a match. Its been a lifesaver for sure. Then if the game is to dead to play on steam launch the NS titanfall 2 game with viper and go play on those servers. You can search and choose what servers to play with. Just what i do when i cant find a match with the vanilla game.

Auto Matchmaking Mod deletes Northstar files and prevents it from working, while doing absolutely nothing else to help.

Bad trolling for no reason, why would anyone do that? What's there to gain by attempting to boycott an open source community effort that allows everyone to play the game not only as intended but even create more content, without asking for money?

Again I cant even edit my loadout for a few min 3 minutes after clicking Multiplayer,
im in changing guns and colours
kick to main menu
after trying again i got new mail
a gift saying sorry downtime,
then again kicked,
then again another background and .. yep in the menu altering guns *they reset back to stock on kick to menu
boof it kicks again
