So, how do I make Multiplayer actually work?
Just bought it and plan on installing it over night. Heard ppl mention some matchmaking mod and some other thing called northstar. I'm not all that tech savy. Is there a 2023 guide on how to install all of this stuff and how it works and stuff?

i was leaning towards mm mod since it has more players and has standard titanfall rules and settings. as long as it doesn't take more than 5 minutes for queue I'm okay with it.

that being said being able to join a server in mere second via north star browser does seem inviting but idk how different game feels compared to vanilla titanfall with mm mod and if player count holds up okay.

anyhow. thnaks for info. pretty busy irl atm so didnt get a chance to test any of the three yet. did play singleplayer a bit months back and loved it.

northstar has some servers with "normal" game modes, while i would say the majority are with custom game modes like "gungame","one in the chamber/Sticks's stones" - which tbf are really fun to play. But not your typical titanfall experience with titans and pilots simultaniously. They do exists, but usually aren't very populated. The normal game modes are usually a diceroll on the ruleset they use (like no ARs, less points to win, more points to win, 12v12 (pretty unstable btw))

The main issue i have with northstar is that you have a smaller playerbase and u slap that on top of people leaving and joining midgame constantly, so your 6v6 lobbies are on average a 4.5v4.5 (at least that is my experience) - IF the servers fill up. It might be better when there are more people around but last time i checked (which was out of sale season) northstar was sittitng around like 100 players on average - very little variety in people (basically seeing the same 20 faces over and over and over and over and over and over and over).

And just fyi: you can play this game without a mod. right now it's even bearable with the lobby dcs cause you find games fast enoug.

northstar.tf - directions will be there. it's honestly as simple as downloading some files and dropping them into your Titanfall 2 install folder

Yeah but you can play actual Titanfall 2 as well. There's a mod called the Auto Matchmaking Mod, it has a GitHub page here[github.com] as well as a steam guide about it which can be found here.

The GitHub page currently has an installer for windows that sets up the mod for you, it uses NS as a mod loader and sets it up to work for actual Titanfall 2 multiplayer servers. The mod automates the matchmaking system and makes it where when you get disconnected it won't stop matchmaking. If you need any extra help setting up the mod you can submit an issue on the GitHub page or you can join the support discord server linked on it.

Multiplayer works if you download the North Star Client. The client has active modders as well and best of all no crashes, just a simple google search away.

Multiplayer works if you download the North Star Client. The client has active modders as well and best of all no crashes, just a simple google search away.
Yeah... kind of... but it's not actual Titanfall 2 tbh.

You can play it and it's fun, try it for a bit, but don't be afraid to try Titanfall 2, the matchmaking mod here works :D

actual Titanfall 2 has way more people playing it.

the matchmaking mod isn't a different game, it's FOR Titanfall 2.

adds a variable needed for newer intel CPUs to windows. It's a fix for people who can't click the launch multiplayer button in some cases.

does any mp exist or should i just dump this 3$ game in the bin?
I adore it, but I cant do anything,
I can get to loadout and customize guns and such but then
pooof
mid change server down
with SORRY DOWNTIME banner

any help please? psis

yea, i asumed it might be smtn like that. never gonna touch some important stuff like in bios for one game.
i'll go check out how to set up that matchmaking mod and hope for the best
