Northstar Launcher, a new era for Titanfall II

Fellas, just like you I was incredibly sad to see my beloved TF2 plagued by DDOSers, hackers, empty servers and most importantly, devs that have forgotten about this gem...

Just like his older brother that goes by the same name, both Team Fall 2 and Titan Fortress 2 for the developers they're pretty much abandonware, but the community is making them shine once again... now it's TF2's time to come back, and it is doing so thanks to the
Northstar Launcher

What is this launcher? Simply put - a mod, for Titanfall 2 that allows you to join community created servers, just like in the original TF2. You got your usual servers, your Kraber-Grapple Only 9k Air Accel server, the pro-competitive one, the crazy 32v32 Titan Brawl randomizer one and so on...

There are both wacky and serious servers, all over the world!

Naturally being this a mod, means that it's completely free. A quick 2 minute installation (smoke and coffe break included) allows you to access these servers, and I'm sad to say it's quite literally the ONLY way to play online nowadays.

There's plenty of servers already too. At the time of writing this there's around 130 something servers iirc, all over the globe (mostly US and EU) and they're constantly growing in numbers and members.

It's just like the original Titanfall 2 experience, but with more power to us players. The host can pick and choose his modifiers.

Wanna play a fast paced Gun Game with 3x the base health? Sure!
Wanna play a game without the usual sweaty CAR user :^) ? We got that
Wanna play a fully randomized pilot and titan, with completely random abilities, weapons, titan weapons and titan kits, all with 2x pilot and titan health, 3x Titan Meter and double charges on all abilities? Hella unstable for now but there is a server for you too Timmy!

This sounds like an infomercial I know, so I'll just cut this short with a single sentence.

Do you wanna play Titanfall 2 in 2022? This is the only way, not the best way, but quite literally the ONLY way to play. The developers forgot about the game, and unless Apex adds titans, this launcher is the only thing that will allow us to play this type of game.

Same. I read online that it's potentially a server restart; but I got this error earlier today too.

What's the point of playing if it doesn't save your information and everyone can have everything on their mech / player? There's no achievement in that, there's no reason to continue to strive to do your best because there's no reward. If I'm wrong then tell me, but this mod defeats (a) purpose of playing. You're supposed to get better which allows you to have better items, not have the best items and still play like crap.

Personally I don't mind the lack of progression (although it is indeed there, since you start at Gen.0 technically) but I see why some might not like this addition.

I don't think it hurts the game at all, after all most of the stuff that you unlock is skins and ofc weapons, it just means that everyone, from a fresh install to a Gen 100 veteran can start playing the game at the same level, ala Arena shooter, where everyone has the same tools at their disposal.

I just play for the game, don't really mind the "progression", but maybe that could be addressed in future releases of the mod! For now it's beyond a very very very early alpha stage, so I'd keep my fingers crossed if I were in ya

The Northstar team is working on fixing the AI so Attrition, Bounty Hunt, and Frontier Defense are back to their original forms.

Hey! I had that same error throught all the day and I (randomly) found the solution.

When you are in the main menu, bottom left corner, there should be Data Center:*server name* plus the ping, to the right of that there should be "Mods", a list will open up.

There's going to be something like "Northstar.Client" "Northstar.CustomServers" "Northstar.Custom" and all your other mods.

On this screen, look at your bottom left corner and there's going to be "Back"-"Reload Mods"-"Authentication Agreement"

Maybe by sheer chance, maybe by pure luck or maybe by design, I clicked on "Authentication Agreement", clicked on "Yes" (just like when you first boot up the mod) and I was able to go back into the multiplayer, clicked "Reload Mods" and re-accepted the Authentication Agreement.

That seemed to do the trick for me, maybe (hopefully) it'll work for you too!
