titanfall not opening, origin says the game is not installed

i've been having a lot of issues with playing the game lately, and i really dont know why it's been happening because i've been able to play the game just fine recently. whenever i try to open the game from steam, origin pops up saying the game is not installed, asking me to install the game to play it.

what's odd is that... i do have it installed, and even origin itself recognizes it as installed as well. it allows me to change the games language and launch options from the launcher, and it lets me also start a file validation and even lets me uninstall the game, it just won't let me open the game. i'm not sure if the issue comes down to origin maybe not knowing where the game is actually downloaded, but i can't seem to be able to point it to the right place.

i've seen a lot of discussions about this problem online, and it even effects a few other games as far as i can tell, but i can't seem to find a definitive fix either. if anyone has had this issue, what worked for you?

i forgot to post this yesterday, but ironically right after i posted this thread i found a solution to this issue, so i'll share it for anyone else that encounters this problem as well.

what i did was add titanfall as a non-origin game. this can be done by clicking the "Games" tab on the origin launcher and then clicking "Add Non-Origin Game". i then went to select the exe for the game, for me located at

 C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Titanfall 2 

right after i did that, origin crashed and then reopened, not showing Titanfall 2 as installed anymore. i then tried to open the game from steam and it ran through the process of going through pre-run installations, and then after that... it just worked! for me its been a method thats worked since then. hopefully if you experience this problem this can help
