Toxic players ruining this game for me and possibly other casual players (rant/PSA)

The guys who have been playing this everyday since launch that can't help but tell you to uninstall if your not perfectly executing movements and titan skill. You are what will kill this game. We get it, your good, that's great for you but that doesn't mean you have to be a toxic troll to people who may not have the time/skill to be as good as you. You telling people to uninstall will just lower the player count. What happens when the player count gets too low? Respawn/EA will shut down the servers. Have a heart and understand that not everybody is as skilled as you are, encourage people, help them. Or not, because just like every other FPS you are probably toxic in you will continue to berate people just because your good at a game.

He is still right though. Most multiplayer games are very tame in terms of toxicity and teamplay oriented ones have lots of friendly and fun people to play with. With that kind of generalized negative attitude, the problem is definitely you. Sorry.

Exactly. Most games have had their entire social aspects neutered with near Orwellian rules catered towards a minority of people with timid, poor sensibilities, yet these people STILL complain despite being pampered. Lobbies used to be filled with lively people, both "toxic" and friendly.


May as well just go back to the days before community programming moderation was a thing. It'd save devs money from hiring community overlords managers and I can have a good laugh.

Casual SA player here, haven't played much but I had a mixed experience, both wholesome and toxic at times. Worst case was a match where I was called a hacker for sniping a couple dudes with the DMR (and I'm not even a good sniper... I barely got 10 kills that match). Most of the toxic players I've seen are salty peeps and "angry kids", but I've seen a few wholesome players too, so I guess it's a "YMMV" situation. Sorry for yours btw

This is common in smaller, almost dead titles. The player base dries up leaving only the hardcore fans who then develop an elitist attitude. Play something else confident in the fact that these kinds of people will end up sad and alone having killed the very game they love.

The problem is me? I said nothing about this game. I've never even tried playing MP Titanfall 2, nor will I ever. It's not even an option for me, since I am a casual player who tends to suck badly. I was speaking about dealing with other people in general, and why I avoid ALL MP.

Because usually the Voice Chat is silent, and people on the Text chat maybe one or two people ever so often call hacks. Definitly no one bragging about a Kraber Shot, or shame someone.

Other then that I have seen very very little toxicity in the game in the past 6 months.

Most toxic thing i've gotten is either calling cheats or saying "Nice smart pistol" and in that case i just say "ty" and they don't reply

Just In case for those who may not know, you can disable chat in this game:
Go to Settings > Video > HUD Option > and then switch Chat Message to OFF.

I assume all the toxicity comes from the chat so you won't have to worry about being verbally abused at all after disabling it. You may come across some teabagging but it happens very rarely and it's hardly offensive anyway.

For me absolutely everyone is completely silent, maybe sometimes people will send a gg a the end of a game

For me, I rarely see someone being toxic in multiplayer, both on PS4 (been playing since launch) and PC (since Steam release). The only toxicity I've seen(if they even count) is the odd "gg ez" and t-bag here and there. Hackers are another thing though, I've encountered a few during my time playing on PC.

Edit: Also, the community for Titanfall has always been chill in my experience. To OP, it sucks that you encountered those types of players, because those are the extreme minority quite honestly. Trust me, you'll find that the vast majority of the community to be chill. Just look to Youtube for cool Titanfall content creators and you'll see for yourself.

Im gonna be honest with you, if they are saying that, they havent played since launch. I have and I know the player droughts of 2018. No one who experienced this amazing game so dead would try to repel new players like that. The real vets give newer players tips on how to improve. Don't mind them keep having fun out there Pilot.
