Someone else had this issue. I believe it was steam failed to create the location in which it looks to save the active game... I'll look it up and edit it here, there was already a thread to this effect.

Titanfall 2 would not save game settings, checkpoints, nor would it let me load a previous game. Here is the fix that worked for me:

For me it was a Windows Security issue. The game was being blocked from writing to the \Documents\ folder.

Go to Start -> Security -> Virus & Threat Protection -> Virus and Threat Protection Settings -> Manage Settings -> Controlled Folder Access -> Manage Controlled Folder Access -> Block History.

Click on a recent "Protected folder access blocked" until you find one that says that the app or processed blocked is Titanfall2, which is protecting your \Documents\ folder.

Click "Actions", then click "Allow on this device".

This should allow Titanfall 2 to make a savegame file in your \Documents\ folder, which should allow you to save your games and settings.

Please comment below if this solution worked for you as well, cheers!

From the thread in question.

I FOUND A SOLUTION! After trying everything, I finally fixed it for myself by making sure that the save files were on the same disk as the game! This might mean installing the game on C: instead of another drive, or moving your personal documents folder to another disk. Either way, if you're stuck on this problem, consider whether it could be the cause!

This reddit thread is where i found the answer, it might help you with the details:

I figured out my problem was with stupid onedrive ♥♥♥♥. Basically if you have onedrive, it changed the default documents folder location from C:/Users/<YourName>/Documents to C:/Users/Onedrive/Documents and that caused problems with Titanfall2 save files. The only solution so far is reinstall windows and DON'T login with microsoft account.

doesn't work
There are several issues that cause this:
  1. Windows Security blocking Titanfall2 from writing a file to Documents
  2. OneDrive preventing the local changes by prioritizing the cloud ones

For those that face the issue:
  1. Add Titanfall to allow-list by following the guide: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1237970/discussions/0/4625714282758978393/
  2. I've made a script to fix the second issue: https://github.com/NastyaGrifon/FixTitanfall2Saves

I got the answer from this post. (Below is the solution I found)

If your pc system is not English(Mine is Chinese(t))
Change the path by going to Regedit.exe
follow the step:
1. Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
2. Change EVERY words that mean "Documents" in your language (for me is 文件) into "Documents"
3. Now your savedata path will be all in English and able to create a save

Just bought the game after playing it for couple of hours I came to the same problem.
I triled looking throught Google but it said nothing helpful.
I tried doing these two things (In reply bellow) but still nothing. I don't have "Titanfall2" in my Documents. I even looked into OneDrive but it wasn't there I have deleted it too.

But still have the same problem. Is there any thing else I can try to do?
