Monarch FD Kit: counter ready or overcore?
Which one would really net the most shields? with an upgrade you get your entire shield bar filled at once, while with smokes you have to wait for them to get ready and stay inside of them to recharge you, on the other hand it will do damage to enemies while also healing your teammates. I usually use the Turbo kit but I want to hear your thoughts just between these two kits.

Try counter ready with maelstrom

Overcore helps a lot with Monarch getting the upgrades earlier in the match, but I'd be interested in the time it takes to get smokes when it comes to a comparison, since overcore gets one smoke every 80% core, while counter ready gets two smokes every 100%. The number looks better, but I question if the early upgrades won't benefit Monarch in the early game, should the person become a suicidal idiot and play her on master.
Unless your using malestorm or your running ronin (you can drop smoke in phase into non phase space) there is no "good" reason to use counter ready.

Core + energy thief is "optimal", not using it is still "viable".

Turbo is pretty much always a good option except maybe tone and core is always good.

The others arent worth mentioning except maybe auto in ctf on scorch only if you want a really fat turret on the flag.... and n ject can sort of "work" on north star with dual tethers....even then....both are still pretty massively meh...otherwise ignore the other kits unless you want to use them for giggles or "role play".

every 80% core,

Your leaving out energy thief which gives another 10% so really its 70% so you really looking at 2 smokes plus level 1 upgrade at 100% vs 140% plus 2 smokes but also having malestorm (assuming your running it).By the time you get 4 smokes and hit malestorm the core build has the final core, has had one more extra shield and one less smoke.

So they in reality (unless your not running energy thief....which is what .01% of monarch players?) are pretty neck, also how often are you going to be dropping back to back smokes as a monarch?

I used rapid rearm a lot when I played as a healer focused monarch, got almost 2k support points in one hard match cause our scorch needed lots of healing, it's pretty fun
