As humorous as the responses have been, let me explain both the story of Apex and Titanfall, both in story and in reality.

Titanfall 2 was more of a victim of it's launch than a critical failure. Coming out between Battlefield and CoD Infinite Warfare didn't leave much room for what was less "Proven" title, and the masses would rather buy games with names that they were familiar with than a "new" one.

EA did as they are want, and asked Respawn, a studio that proved they made decent multiplayer Run and gun/Mech hybrid shooters to make a PubG style Battle Royale, as that was popular at the time. Respawn looked at this, and said "To both save time and deliver a product in a world we are so familiar with, We're going to make a Battle Royale game in the Titanfall universe." This is why most of the guns are the same, as they both take place in the same "world".

I never played Apex Legends, but from what I understand, until EA stuck their nose in and demanded more terrible predatory microtransactions, Apex Legends was a standout in Battle Royale shooters.

As for Story bits, in the campaign of Titanfall 2, Jack Cooper is forced to fight with a Mercenary group called the Apex Predators. They make up most of the boss fights, and naturally, Jack wins, and kills the enemy Mercenary pilots. This leaves the leader of the Apex Predators, Kubin Blisk, with a small issue. He survived, but his entire Mercenary faction is dead, besides him. this leads him to form the blood sport that Apex Legends revolves around, hoping to hire some new talent to replace his team's losses.

For all Apex Legends is, I was excited to hear it was going to be a Spinoff of Titanfall. I would have tried a Titanfall Battle Royale game. I was sorely disappointed to find out that the one thing Respawn didn't add to it, either because it didn't work, or because someone didn't want to include them, was the Titans themselves.

Hopefully this offsets some confusion people might find reading this thread.

And have another.... 4 hour campaign? Thanks i will pass
40 hour campaigns are bloated and expensive to make. It's just going to hurt everyone in the long run, especially the developers forced to crunch their way to meet a deadline. We need more games with short and sweet campaigns with an air of replayability, especially if there's going to be a multiplayer component to it.

Also the campaign was at least five hours so HAH.
You took one hour longer, still to short. It was almost as bad as vanilla destiny 2

Oh,... and TF2 underwent 2+ years of development... I do like to think in actual game development (They didnt need to create engine and all that stuff, Its the same engine as TF.... Assets are used and what not), doesnt take longer then that. It uses assets from the original game too just fyi....

I am just gonna name Prey as an example. It was also about 2.5 years in development yet you get 30-40 hours of campaign.

The reason i do not mention MP at all?

You have less stuff to do in TF2 MP then you had in TF1. You had 9 maps in tf2 compared to the 15 you had in tf1.

You pay more, for less is essentially the thing here.

Deadlines are no excuse in this regard.

This comparison is plain bad because the games focus on different crowds. Prey is a RPGlite story-heavy *singleplayer* immersive sim with (at launch) no multiplayer. Titanfall 2 is, just like most other FPS games of this era, a *multiplayer-focused* FPS game that happens to have a campaign, which in turn happens to be good.

This is just flat-out wrong. Both games have 15 maps.

Please tell me you have more then 2 brain cells. Apex is a continuation of the Titanfall 2 universe that takes place 30 years after the fact. ALTHOUGH there is a time fracture which is really interesting if you look into the lore and do some research. :sentry:
low effort bait that somehow works
Omg your so funny OP please do stand-up.
