Only caveat is that I'm not sure I'd recommend playing the mod unless/until you're familiar with the vanilla version, since the added complexity might raise the bar for the learning curve a bit high.
I had game on CD and OS has been XP I think ,but alas - no go
That's the real Chaos ;)
If you look through these forums you will find both detailed installation instructions for the 1.13 mod (stable release 4870 at the time.. haven't looked lately) as well as a number of threads about problems with installation and running of the game. If a solution to your particular problem isn't on here, start a new thread with the specifics of your experience and we'll see what we can do to help.
I neglected to mention last time I replied that there are various mods for JA2:Gold available that are being worked on in parallel and at various levels of stability. When one becomes mature, it gets rolled into the 1.13 mod source, if it's considered to be a 'general' mod.. 'flavor' mods are less likely to be absorbed into the core code and therefore may always be tied to a particular release. I do remember seeing something about a Vietnam overlay-type mod, but idr if it was for JA2:Gold or JA:UB. The forums at The Bear's Pit (www.thebearspit.com, iirc) would be where you could ask the actual modders themselves.
