There is no option to rejoin from the menu either. The one time I have had it reconnect it struggled to resync the game as well.
Game unplayable multiplayer at the moment for this reason.
If I was able to save the game and then restart it with all players again, it would have got around the problem, but you can't do that either.
Several times one of our 4 could not rejoin a game in progress when we stopped and came back to play another day. Upon loading one one player may not "make it" in all the way (hangs on loading" and has to end task SI. That tosses the game out the window. When we tried to invite that person back via http link it said it couldn't locate teh game. (when his slot was open). When the host put his name in the slot (playing both spirits) the link told him the game was full (so found it.. but full). opened his spirit back up again... game not found....
The MP in this game is atrocious. Especially for a MP centered game. Why not a proper lobby where the host saves the game data, and ANY 3 other people can rejoin and play in those slots (not just the person who was playing). That would seem much more stable Just give the host the entire save game. Who cares who he was playing with and let him reassign the people that join the game the next session to whatever slots he wants.
People saving games are likely not casuals but friends....
