RE:Verse look good, but there are a few problems...
I am hyped for the game, but I also agree in certain parts of the IGN video criticizing about the monetization of this game and some of it's gameplay aspects, so here is what I think in what parts this game need work:
-The bioweapon mechanic:
I think Capcom took the reviving transformation mechanic a bit too far in RE:Verse. It's too broken and you can easily get it, and it's a badly designed mechanic. I think they should follow the example of of the demon rune power-up from Doom 2016's multiplayer and snapmap mode, because of the way it is simplified.
For example, there should be a special power-up in the map called "The DNA Injector" that can be grabbed by one player at a time for a short period. It does spawn in some part on the map in a minute, and once you catch the power-up, you transform yourself into a bioweapon beast of your choice for a short period of time or until you get killed. And once you get killed during the mutation, the DNA Injector can be dropped and be used by another player. The bioweapon that the player transforms into is chosen at the start of a round or during the match.
-The movement:
They probably should think about adding the sprint mechanic as a character universal movement, as it feels that both Leon and Ada are the only characters with a certain degree of mobilization in comparison to rest of the cast.
-Monetization:
Honestly, battlepasses are considered an agressive monetization tactic by norm, so, for better monetization, why not adding some sort of premium mechanic for fast grinding? Or even make the game worth the price by improving it into a 60€ worth one? Or using paid currency for only buying cosmetic items, if CAPCOM has any plans for realisng cosmetics such as weapon skins, weapon accessories, character clothing, etc...?

If you guys checked Resident Evil Re:Verse Review at IGN channel, what do you think the game needs work on, in your perspective?

Matches can be won or lost just based on whether you spawn near the virus things and its basically like 1-3 of the players spawn near one, the others dont. Its frustrating when you dont spawn near one and someone else did and they end up just snowballing and staying in first place for the whole match. The samples also increase your damage by a small % (can be significant depending on the build and character. the first that comes to mind is Ada's crossbow and helps her get 1 shot headshots with a few skills).

everyone sprinting 24/7 is good imo because people are gonna just hit sprint like as soon as they spawn 99.9% of the time anyway and it keeps you from fumbling with it when trying to run away from something. I cant really speak on anything else cause im not sure what could be done but ada's dodge passive is way too strong and abusable (especially with the poor connections)

I cant speak on monetization because i dont interact with any of those systems at all because i dont like most ways modern games handle it.

Now for all the things wrong with the game after playing (that im aware of atleast)

I-frames are non-existent. this happens in all the new RE engine resident evil games but to a significantly lesser degree because of the way they are designed compared to this one. When you get hit by an attack or grabbed you dont have any i-frames and can easily be stunlocked to death or chain grabbed to death (0G re1 style). Thankfully the other games are designed in a way where those kinds of situations are actually very rare except in re2 remake with the last survivor stuff. the dogs love to chain grab/stun lock you to death and so do some of the other enemies but they tend to not be that bad compared to the dogs. Simple fix here tbh, just give the invulnerable status when you're in hitstun and/or give a short grace period after recovering so you can move or atleast attempt to do something. This is really just an issue when fighting bows as humans dont have the same ability to stun you but would still be helpful vs humans too.

im seperating this one because it could be an issue with connections rather than an issue with the mechanic. 99% of the time i dodge through an attack at what would be like the perfect time if it was like lets say dark souls or some other action game i still take damage but avoid getting stunned which sucks because even when you play right you still get some punishment (meanwhile this doesnt seem to happen to enemies that dodged too late/early and 100% got hit by my attack. but again this might just be a connection issue. but then that brings up the problem of if i dodged the attack and took damage but i dont get the hitstun, why wouldnt i get forced into hitstun since i did get hit first or the damage gets reverted because i did actually dodge the attack. It just makes games frustrating where you dodge attacks and still take damage, attack people and they do a bad job at dodging and never take damage but again, i think this is just bad connection issues. if the dodge does have i-frames, im curious how much.

leading into the next topic, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ connections lol. Game is p2p like its old school cod, if the host leaves match ends instantly and its as if it never happened. And for some reason it picks hostss with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or the other players (potentially even me) have awful connection to the host so matches can be a real bad lag fest where people are walking through attacks and taking no damage, you're getting shot around corners, people suddenly just appearing in front of you, etc. This morning for example i had nothing but perfect matches, everything hit that should have hit, everything that shouldnt have didnt. but then i played 1-2 hours later and its a lag fest with unplayable matches that were so laggy it made some of the players look like cheaters (ada mains in this case)

content, or lack therof. this was supposed to release with re3 remake and it had the rpd map and the same character roster as far as im aware. So in the 1.5 year delay it seems they only added the bakers map and that could have already been in it back then as well. So they added no content in all that time. They also said theere would be new content after the beta. Guess what that new content was. the battlepass. so we have 2 maps (i get rpd like 99% of my matches. i played on the baker house for the first time today about 3 times and im over a 2 dozen matches deep at this point)

balance. it could use some work. Ada/Chris are like S tier although Ada needs some skill/skills to be that good. Everyone else has some good/bad and situations they excel at with exception of claire. she seems to be the worst by far and nobody plays her. her stim gets cancelled too easy and if you're stun locked it doesnt mean anything. It should be buffed to be a full heal and then maybe she would be decent. Hunk is pretty low as well because his invisibility doesnt really make him hard to see at all and the maps are too small/cramped for it to really be useful overall. The only use it really has right now is the bonus damage it gives to his assassinate ability (which can 1 shot with the right build and/or 2 virus samples. im not too sure on the specifics because i dont play him much but ive been 1 shot by that combo a lot since day 1 so i know its pretty easy to setup). If hunks camo made him invisible when standing still but shimmers when moving i think it would be more useful with the crampedness, you have to actually pay attention to see them if they are moving rather than just seeing an obvious blue outline.

Theres probably more i could say but i cant think of anything right now. ill probably get reminded in my next few matches or from the comments.

Edit: I said it was to release with re3 remake, i meant re8 because resistance released with re3 remake.

Edit 2: the mmr is trash. you get like 15 for 1st place, 10 for 2nd, and none for 3rd. 4th-6th you lose like 15-30 or something like that, i cant remember the exact numbers but you lose a ♥♥♥♥ ton, and gain barely anything making it slow to climb and fast to fall

edit 3: the battlepass and challenge system sucks. you have to manually go to the battlepass screen and hit a button to get the exp from the challenges you complete. It would just make significantly more sense to automatically claim them and give you the exp, especially because you can only have 8 at a time (9 if you bought the bp) and then you also have to manually claim your rewards from the bp. whereas literally every single other game gets it correct and does it all automatically so the only thing you need to do is see what challenges you have if the game has them.
