You can go back to the old version in the properties > betas tab.

I enabled the gfwl version in betas but now the game doesn't start and gives me an error - "Please start the game by running launcher.exe". I get that when trying all options running the game from Steam and also running launcher.exe in the install folder. :\

Damn, that doesnt sound good. You could try to uninstall the game and reinstall it with the old version enabled. Maybe there is something bugging out because of the two version game files overwriting eachother.

And they also removed the GFWL keys from our account so if we need to use the key again its just not there. Pretty annoying.

Well, now we have 2 versions of the game. Old (gfwl + online and old save) and new (without gfwl, online and old save)

& that's pretty bad. I hoped to the last that multiplayer would be added on steam servers.

It's the third option that shows up when launching the game.

Well, Strategy First ran out of keys before this release anyway. So it's not really viable to do that again.

Sadly, the multiplayer requires much more work than "just replacing" GFWL with Steamworks.

I know that's not the best answer but you could try finding a crack for the GFWL and using any key online for GFWL, I used to do that before steam start selling games, you can play online and everything, again I know thats not the best option but its an option

That I understand, but they shouldn't have removed the GFWL key from our accounts for those who already owned the game before this change. Thankfully, I found that if you played the game already before, you can go to the Window's registry to find your key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\TestApp12360\SteamKey

Sadly, it can't be done partially. It's all or nothing.

If they made a separate Steam entry (like what DIRT 3 did years ago), it would have avoided all of these issues.

Hopefully we'll get multiplayer soon enough.
