Problems, possible solutions and ideas. (v. 0.1.1)
Originally I wanted to mention all my problems with the game and some of the glitches I encountered while playing, but basically everything I had to say has already been said by other people, so instead, I'm gonna give some potential solutions to some of those problems and some ideas I have to help make this game better (maybe).

So first off, the stun problem that UncivilWorld mentioned in his thread since I agree 100%. I understand why the devs didn't want you stunning shielded enemies since doing so would make depleting their shield bar much easier or allowing players to stun enemies for longer than intended by stunning the enemy and then breaking their shield gauge. I know the attacks that cause stun have additional break, but I don't think that is a good enough substitute to stunning an enemy. I think an easy solution is to make it so that the shield gauge doesn't deplete if you hit an enemy while it's stunned. That way, you can use those abilities to stun the boss and get a small breather without having it give you too much of an advantage.

Secondly, I think the checkpoint system could use some refinement. Travelling from checkpoint to checkpoint is great, but it doesn't help much when there are no checkpoint nearby. Say you make your way to the last boss of the game (right now) and you die, the closest checkpoint is five screens away from where you were. Granted the distance is far from huge, but you will still need to walk back there should you die since dying sends you back to the last checkpoint you interacted with. I think having a checkpoint right before the boss would alleviate this issue and it will also help should you decide to backtrack to the town to upgrade or buy some items, you wouldn't have to walk back all the way to the boss again.

Third, this is more a bug report than anything but when entering the hardest dimensional rift (the one that immediately takes you to a room with multiple bosses), sometimes one of them will be missing. I'm not sure if that's a glitch or a conscious decision, so I figured I would mention it.

And lastly, this is just an idea I had, but maybe there could be a way to make the knight's hall relevant in gameplay by making it act as a spot to find and accept sidequests. After all, we know that many requests get ignored by the knights who only take requests with big rewards and we also know that Claris is willing to help for basically nothing because she thinks it's her duty as a knight to help them. So maybe you could go there and accept some quests for rewards like money, items or even equipment. Maybe it could even affect the story since you could help enforce the idea that knights are all greedy people who only take the quests with the big rewards or maybe you could be the people's hero by doing all the little quests with smaller rewards. It could even be taken a step further. Say at a certain point in the story, you, the player, get to choose the mission Claris will undertake and depending on the mission you take, you would get different scenarios, go to different places, get a different challenge, you name it. I realise this probably goes against what is already planned for the game, but I think that would be kinda cool, maybe as some post-game stuff once the game is complete.

Anyway, that's all I had to say. The game is really fun and I'm excited to see where it all goes next!

I really love your "Knight's Hall" idea!

As for the level 3 dimension rift, I agree. Sometimes there are just two bosses, sometimes there are three. I think it's intentional.

  • Checkpoint / Fast Traveling is somewhat last-minute feature we came up. And yes, it's still far from convenient. Might still evolve into a different thing in the future.

  • Is it the Great Boar that's always missing in the Extreme Rift? Or any random one?
    It's not intentional. T.T

Yeah it's always the boar for me, the Bogus are always there in my experience.

Also yeah, I should really number my points next time. Right now, it just looks like a massive essay.

Also, since I didn't do it last time for no valid reason, I'm glad you like my Knight's Hall idea, drafaelb! It's good to know I might have some good ideas once in a while.
