Cockroaches made me decide not to 100% this game.
What an obnoxiously low drop rate. And no I'm not playing the can collecting game just because SEGA can't program drop rates. I was getting bored of this game anyways. Back to one of the ones that actually has combat gameplay.

I dont recall needing to collect cockroaches for 100%? Unless you are doing the part time hero stuff? In which case you can skip this one and do one that gives you more stars

To be fair though - it doesn't sound like you where planning to 100% the game anyway? Though - I agree with Lars also; planning to 100% achievements (1 left for final final final dungeon) and otherwise do not plan to 100% Part-Time hero as it is just overbearing (I don't care for Mahjong, Poker, Black-Jack, Baseball, Crane Machines, or older racing titles/arcade cabinets, so avoiding anything to do with them as best I can).

The amount of cans you need to collect to finish that mini-game ranking for example far superseded the value of the garbage/cockroaches, and aside from the albums the guy only sells a couple other "for Part-time Hero" items like half-consumed Bentos and water (growth items are not worth it from him).

Edit : And honestly - I think the college was worse than the can collecting. Maybe I missed it, but taking tests on things I have 0 insight about was weird lol; though only took 3 tries on the hardest one (and got the final test in first shot - luck of the draw on questions).

I actually enjoyed the vocational school. It was the first minigame I completed entirely. But I also saved before taking any test so when I lost, I just went back in and tried again. I think the only one I hated was the Japan-specific quiz that I just had to guess at repeatedly.

I've been sitting at 2/5 cockroaches for a while. I've actually gotten enough trash by wandering the city/doing normal stuff, and only had two cockroaches manifest in all these hours. I will probably end up doing the can collecting quest--after all, I just suffered through the business management minigame just to upgrade Romance Workshop. That makes the can quest barely an issue to me. But I definitely agree that some tedious aspects of this game have made skip several parts of it.

I doubt I'll be getting 100% achievements but I've accepted that fact many games ago.

The hobo sell them for can points (can collecting minigame), i've obtained many of them just doing this.

If it annoys you so much, you can always use cheatengine to cheat the eco points from the can collection, and buy everything from this vendor in like several minutes.

This is, indeed, very possible and easy. While game is open, alt-tab to Cheat Engine. Select the game's process. Use default settings. Type in the number of points and click First Scan. When that's done, go back into game and spend some eco points. Search again. Do once more and I always have the obvious memory address to modify. Increase that to a suitably huge number and buy all the cockroaches you want.
