Anyone managed to do this? Looking for help. Steam version says saves are corrupt.

The save location should be the same regardless of store.

Game on GOG is on a different version. I've managed to bypass the "save corrupted" issue but now I get an error saying the save is from a newer version of the game.

Its the same version, doesn't change the fact the saves would be in the same directory.

My issue isn't locating the save directory it's getting the saves to work. Also no it isn't the same version, the GOG version has different credits and some DLC was missing IIRC.

try converting your saves with this script https://github.com/GarnetSunset/rgg_save_tool_py

Yep it is the tool I'm using. I get the "save is from a newer version of the game" error now.

I'm guessing I'd have to hex edit the save but I tried opening the decrypted save in an hex editor and saw no obvious differences between the GOG save and a "fresh" steam save when it comes to version number.

Correction: I'm using the tool your link is based on https://github.com/GarnetSunset/rgg_save_tools

I can't figure out how to use the python script you linked.

That's what I used and what gives me the "save is from a newer version of the game" error.

Hey, nope. Found no solution whatsoever.

I fixed it. I am coming from the Amazon Luna export. Use the link to the github post and download the y7 tool. Locate your save file and drag + drop it into the decrypt tool. Open the JSON file it produces and change the text at the top of the file m_revision and set it to m_revision":100005

In case the game updates, just start a new save file and decrypt it and find the revision number. Also, make sure the version numbers match at the top. After you've done this save your JSON file and drag + drop it into the encrypter tool. This will produce your save file to use.
