Gaiden is just a small game that'll bridge the gap between 7 and 8. And 8 is gonna have 2 protagonists. Kiryu and Kasuga. Also, no prizes for guessing what kinda combat system 8 is gonna have.

Gaiden is a side-game to fill in the blanks for Kiryu because they decided to not completely remove him from the series after all. It plays between 6 and 7.

It also costs less than "main" titles, so yeah, turn based is here to stay and that's a good thing. Like a Dragon was the best of the series.

What turn based combat did you see in Yakuza: Gaiden ? Thats was real time combat.

Gaiden will have real time combat. The main games will keep turn-based.

That guy on the left in the end of the trailer is supposed to be Kazuma Kiryu ?? Well, modders will be up all night and fix that, I can tell you that. Because they replaced the clown in this game with Kazuma Kiryu too. As simple as I can tell it: You simply DONT replace Kazuma Kiryu with nobody else! I bet Yakuza gaiden will outsell Yakuza 8 too. Especially on consoles.

After 6 you’d think they’d move on. But they brought him back in 7 granted as a boss only to bring him back in 8. Smh I like Kiryu but he’s got 7 now 8 games to him. I thought the point of ichiban is he was the new lead.

Perhaps fans of the series dont like new clown looking guy and wants Kazuma Kiryu back ? Why else do you think they made Yakuza: Gaiden ?!

Itchiban is a solid protagonist gaiden is to explain why he’s there in 6. I can only hope it wrap up his character he’s really old at this point.
