Poor game performance
been having some problems atm with how the game runs. Ive played the game for almost 150 hours and dropped it a few months ago, but wanted to pick it up again and complete it on hard mode. I have however had some issues with how the game runs. It runs like a slug on all graphic settings despite me having played it at ultra graphics through my 150 hours i have already played. I've tested other games and it is only yakuza like a dragon that has performance issues rn, have anyone else had problems with the games performance recently?

No it's running fine for me. Given you haven't played it for a while there's a chance something installed between the last time you played it and now is causing issues.

What troubleshooting beyond changing graphics presets have you tried?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Restarted my PC, Checked my drivers (all of them are up to date), checked if there were any programs running in the background taxing the game.

Try using DDU (display driver uninstaller) and installing an older driver version, i.e. the one you were using when you played it before. Despite the standard advice the latest drivers can cause more problems than they solve.

If that doesn't work it might be worth trying it from scratch, rather than your 150 hour save. You'll want to back them up first and disable Steam's cloud save to test this though.

This will tell you where the saves are

I can see that for some reason the game tries to use my CPU's to do the graphics processing and for some reason i cannot tell it to use my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ actual graphics card...

Are you trying to set it in the GPU's control panel or Windows itself?

same problems here, stuttering and freezing like hell

I was having the same issue, but for whatever reason the game wasn't bothering to use all the CPU. This fix looks to have fixed most of if not all of my stuttering/freezing issues.

Task Manager > Details > YakuzaLikeADragon.exe > Set Affinity

Once on that menu just make sure that all the CPU options are checked. Hopefully that fixes your issues.

Despite my good rig (i7, RTX 2070 mobile) I am always between 25-55 fps on 1080p ultra. It starts with solid 60fps and after around 4 minutes it drops on every preset and runs chuppy. Funny thing is, if I cap the frames on 30 (to prevent heat), it drops also on 25 fps.

I tried many workarounds (affinity, dpi, Control Flow Guard, admin, diffrent drivers, power settings, .....), but without luck.

I am forced to soft overclock my notebook (with asus armory crate on turbo) to play with 45-55fps. This is the only game where this occurs, so I think the heat shouldnt be a problem in general. If i check benchmark tests with my specs, people seem to have 70+ fps on ultra fhd.

I am out of ideas, help would be appreciated. Maybe its a windows 10 driver issue?

I personally got around my Issue by doing a factory reset. It is a bit annoying to do, but often solves a lot of issues even ones you didnt know where there.

Thanks for the information, but this is not an option at the moment, because all other games work fine. Seems to be that windows is the showstopper ;-)
I managed to live with the framerate after solid 60 fps Yakuzas 0-6....
