Goro Majima and Saejima fight....WTF?

playing on "easy" as i am not particular up for a big "challenge" i mean dont mind a tougher fight but is ludicrous....its a pain in the ass BEFORE with goro majima alone but when saejima "joins" the game its just an unfair nightmare...healing/reviving just seems (more or less) prolonging the struggle and then clear defeat....i especially "love it" when i am "electrified" and cant movie....my blocking rather sucks but here when saejima strikes i just lose very much energy and ratio of heal items and lame attacks (THEY very little lose energy) makes this pretty much NOT easy....? i mean i didnt even come "close" to nearly defeating them.....

What's your party set-up? What rank are the characters? Playing on Hard difficulty, mine were all Lvl 46, Job rank 20 - Ichiban (Hero), Ji-Han (Enforcer), Adachi (Bodyguard), Saeko (Night Queen). It was a breeze, Saejima was a bit more of a slog but it should be, he's a monster in the series. My general advice would be to take out the shadow clones as soon as they appear, then focus solely on Majima. Ji-Han's poison works quite well against Majima (and a certain other Tojo legend later on) and Saeko's Candle skill works well too. Ichiban will have unlocked some nice support skills by this point and you should have a good MP pool.

What do you mean you're playing on "easy"? You can't choose difficulty unless you've already beaten the game once, and you wouldn't be making this thread if you have actually beaten the game.

I was stuck on this too for a bit. The general consensus seems to be that you need to grind in the battle arena for a good bit until you're above level 40 and at job rank 20 (at least that worked with me). Battle Arena is mindlessly easy and it gives some good items if you don't already have a good bit and it only took me like 20 floors to reach the party levels I needed to beat the fight.

well i was in the battle arena until stage 19(?) not sure...further fights didnt attract me that much and i thought "tougher opponent" i can compensate with more healing items,etc...well *guess* i was quite wrong....

If you're still struggling, I'd grind the Arena until you can comfortably complete it (there's only 30 levels, so you were a good way through). Also, Ichi's skill Peerless Resolve is your friend.

ok tried now again...grinded till level 55....NOW we came close to fair fight (according to some "guides" both are at level 50? perhaps thats why they wiped the floor first with my team) which wasnt that hard anymore to beat...used saeko as healer...also would strongly recommend rocket launcher against saejima
