Facial Expressions
are almost non-existent? I esepcially noticed it at the birthday party early in the game (new player). Or is it some kind of bug?

The facial expressions/animations look fine to me, but I don't know what your expectations are. Have you tried comparing your experience to one on youtube?

It gets better, but its still kind of weird; but what I am referring to is https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=y2WC-8HWxeY @ 50:02 ^_^ I was hoping it was a bug. No emotion whatsoever on her face lol and this just continues.
