Unable to launch

Finished the download, hit play, screen goes black, brief pause then crashes back instantly to desktop.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

same here, my game doest not even get a black screen, i try to lauch and after some seconds the laucher goes back to "play"

Try going to the local files by right clicking the game in your library->properties->browse local files
from there, try to launch the .exes in the runtime folder and see if it gives you an error

Mine said i was missing some .dll file

For people still having problems at launch (black screen), it usually boots correctly after three attempts on my PC.

If you are missing .dlls, i would google it, but i was able to fix it by downloading the windows features media pack

I pretty much edited some settings in here:

I only messed around these particular settings to see what would work, i.e turning off vsync, changing the output_id (no idea what this is, at one point I had it blank it somehow worked?), window_mode=2 is borderless, while 1 is regular windowed etc.

I hope this works for you guys, sorry it's not super specific but I hope at least modifying these values you're able to at least launch the game and edit the settings in game or at least force a specific resolution.

Thanks, that worked for me. My TV is 8k and the game locked on it, but doesnt like it :) Just moved to windowed and 1080p and all good

and what should i do if i don't have a Sega folder at C:\Users\(YourUsername)\AppData\Roaming? please help i'm at my wit's end

If you got files in that folder, then just delete graphics.ini and you'll be able to lauch the game

I can't find the graphics.ini file because I don't have a Sega folder in AppData\Roaming. Any idea where the file is supposed to be?

dont worry i dont have it either .. it means the install process from the startup.exe didnt work well

i just reinstalled tok the dlc off ..nothing new it still isnt working

I'm also having issues with starting the game. Steam says "Running..." then quickly goes back to normal. No black screen. No Appdata folder. Etc.

I have tried running it admin and such.

For the record my PC specs are this:

Windows 10 1903.
32 GB of RAM
AMD Ryzen 3900x
EVGA Nvidia Geforce 2080S
Installed on a WD Black SSD drive.

Go to C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Sega\YakuzaLikeADragon, and delete all files in this folder. After I removed the Pachinko DLC and deleted the files in this folder it worked.

I give up. I can't load the game. No black screen, no error. Nothing, Running as Administrator didn't help, dll's didn't help, and I even created a graphics.ini file and copied all the info. Still nothing, I'll wait for a patch or for a fix.

Wow, Sega. Just wow... First and last time i'm buying a RGG game on PC (although on PS4 their dragon engine games run like ♥♥♥♥♥ as well)
