Off beat karaoke?
Noticed that to get Great hits in karaoke I have to delay my button inputs a bit, because when I press them on beat with the song, it counts as "good". Was this done on purpose or is it something they somehow overlooked?

Wow, this is way more noticable in Machinegun Kiss where each button is so close to eachother. How in the world did anyone think it was fun to delay your inputs to get perfect timing?

Are you playing above 60FPS? I play the game around 50-60FPS and the karaoke inputs have always felt fine for me.

Try limiting the framerate in the graphics options to 60 or 30 and see if that changes anything.

Yep, framerate is limited to 60fps, never have it above that or else the screen starts tearing. Lowest framerate I've seen karaoke go is 55 at the worst.

Over 2 years and this is still a thing. The button presses for all the songs are noticeably off beat. This minigame sucks because of this.

did you ever find a fix for this? even at 60 fps it still happens and it's extremely annoying, i also had this issue with yakuza 6 and 5 but weirdly not kiwami 2

Nope, no fix. And the amount it's offbeat by changes each time. I'm pretty sure it depends the difference in loading time between the song and the actual minigame.

Strange, the load times are basically instantaneous for me yet it’s still always off beat, and I think I’m the only one who had the issue of yakuza 5 and 6 being off beat, I could find barely any info online about those two
I think most of the games have issues with timing - pre-dragon engine games, namely, probably something to do with changing the timing from 30 to 60.

If I had the skills, I'd code an auto player and see how different each one plays, cos I get the feeling it'd be at least somewhat different each time.

It’s just really weird to me that kiwami 2, the one with the most broken pc port, is the only dragon engine game with functional karaoke for me

Though I did install silent patch so that might’ve fixed it, but I never noticed any timing issues before I installed it either. If it really did fox it I wish someone would make a silentpatch for 6 and 7

Pretty sure I noticed a bit of timing issues with Kiwami 2 before patching, but that was probably due to how the game would stutter before said patch. It is weird that it's the most functional, though.
