[Spoiler] How to beat Chapter 14 boss?

Kiryu is complete and utter unfair ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I have been massively overlevelled for the entire game without even trying, then here comes Kiryu. One shots everyone, takes several turns in a row, you can't even attack him while he's in rush style without getting hit yourself, etc. There's no strategy or skill to this boss it seems, it's either a matter of pure luck or grinding. Both of which are terrible.

If I need to grind gear and levels to be able to survive his attacks long enough to beat him then I think I'm just done with this game. Forced grinding is awful game design that should not be in any video game regardless of genre, not that there even is anywhere I could grind (already beat Sotenbori Battle Arena more than once, and levelling up there is getting slow once you're past level 50, and it's the only place you feasibly could grind since everything in the dungeons and streets is massively underlevelled).

If he one hit you, you are definitely underleveled. I beat with without problems with lv 50+.

I am level 50+, with the best gear I can find so far.

Hmm.. I was naturally lvl 50 or so when I faced him. I mean yes he is a beast but I wouldn't call him hard. He just takes time to beat. If I remember correctly he is weak to cold+ fire deals good damage. Don't forget to call Poundmates to buff your team and debuff Kiryu. Also don't forget to call Majima, he knows what to do.

You're right, I wouldn't call him hard. He's just utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. One of his attacks can instakill most of your party members, and he frequently takes 2 turns in a row. And in his Rush Style you can't even attack him without taking at minimum 200 damage from a counterattack.

Wait till he tiger drops you lol. he doesn't hit your female party members btw so use it to your advantage- bring Eri and Saeko.

Ok for real here is a good strategy- Ichiban should be a Hero (healing the whole party is neat). You need at least 1 female with buff/debuff skills. You need to have Namba in your party for fire/ice damage (I didnt use him but I gues its gonna be easy with him). Call certain Poundmates and you are golden. Good luck)

Huh. Was he really that hard? I'm one of those...dedicated players who grinded pretty hard, and was probably around 53, plus had a ton of upgraded weapons. (Weapon upgrading is where you get the best weapons.) I just ice blocked the hell out of Kiryu with the girls.

Buy some rocket launcher ammo from the sotenbori pawn shop to shave off a large chunk.

The Rocket Launchers actually just won the fight for me. Brawler, Beast and Dragon of Dojima is easy.

In my previous attempts I couldn't get past rush, his rush combos instakilled everyone and he countered everything. Used the rockets to power through the rush phase and then beat him first try after getting past that.
