How do you get your first gig?

I have 6 songs and 5 band members but how do i do anything with them? like how do i get a gig?

Hang out with other bands by going to shows. Eventually you will get invited to play.

1. Drive around look for small clubs/pubs, and check with the bartender and the calendar to see if there are any battle of the bands coming up. Getting these should be easy, though likely you will not win, it gets your band exposure aka reputation.

2. Using the same methods above - checking in clubs - See if any bands need an opening act.

3. Every day you should go see local bands. This gets you more reputation and eventually bands will invite you to open up for them and/or at battle of the bands.

how do you join the battle of the bands? i dont see any option?

check your shows tab on the right, look for venues that regularly host battle of the bands. go to the clubs/venues and register for them in their calendar. this may require rep with the club / city or may not.

a good things to do is pick one or two sub 2-300 capacity venues and go watch shows there for awhile until you get calls from bands and the venue to start opening. Youll also get the reward of being able to self register as a supporting act eventually. It's much easier to build rep with 1 -2 clubs early on than a city itself (it flips once you make a ton of progress in the game and it becomes easier to play big shows and get rep with a city than with clubs)

When a gig is available for your band appears in color blue, click on it and you'll book that gig, your name should appear now, if all gigs are color black you dont have enough reputation in that places and need to build it up waching other bands in that pub

I am into my 3rd year and still have not got a gig not sure what I have done wrong here but at one point was flying through members wondering if just restarting may be best

Yeah, I don't know how you've been playing, but definitely start over and use some of the tips mentioned above.
